The second half was pretty grim.

Ancelotti brought that kid on to shut down Snodgrass. I found myself wondering how slow Everton's left hand side is as both Snodgrass and Zabaleta outpaced them on numerous occasions.

Nothing much wrong with our defensive effort or workrate - Rice and Ogbonna great, Zabaleta good - but the front lads just aren't doing it.

Haller's purpose in life since his first handful of games seems to be to make Arnautovic look like a £100m player; Lanzini is not the player he was; Ajeti never gives the impression of having a PL standard technique and whilst Fornals has improved, he had to bury that header in the first half - far too close to Pickford.

Still, things are not as bad as they were two months ago - at least we look to have some semblance of organisation.

Injuries really aren't playing that much of a part - there's only a handful out who would conceivably feature in that game.

Said previously this was a must win game, luckily some of the other results down the bottom worked in our favour today. Think the only thing that could get us back on track of avoiding relegation is to beat Leicester. Think we can write both the Liverpool games off, would have said the Man City game as well but Palace proved today they're not the force of previous seasons.

Disappointing second half.

Didn't see the point in taking Fornals off for Masuaku.

Should have been lanzini for Ajeti and a straight 4-4-2

Seemed to be a lack of movement and forward passing second half, haller too isolated and again chances not taken over the full 90.

One point is better than none, but on hindsight feel the 3 were up for grabs

Three minutes into the start of the 2nd half. We are on the attack inside their half. We have players up and square but with great aplomb Cresswell makes a poor pass back to the keeper (WHY FFS?)...who gets put under pressure and the ball goes out for a corner. We come under sustained pressure for the next five or six minutes. That set the tone for the rest of the game...How to turn attack into near-calamity. Why are we always looking to turn square or even backwards rather than trying to beat the man and progress towards goal? It's the West Ham way :?

2nd half they were into us just about every time we got the ball. Strong and aggressive, tapping at our heels. Snodgrass continuously trying to play around his marker and failing most of the time.

Diop looked good IMO and if we can get him and Oggie back to their partnership of last season I shall be well pleased. Lanzini was shot after 20 minutes. I cannot wait for Big Mik to come back.

Two points lost IMO. :(

How often did we stop completely as our midfielders couldn't find a pass.
Absolutely then go backwards

Not much to really say about that game.

Played okay first half. 2nd half we just looked like a team more than happy with a draw. Players and manager had no idea.

Still think we will finish 19th.

That’s the worst officiated game I’ve ever seen. Everton offside by two yards at the end, Lino didn’t even flag it and was stood right in front.

And that VAR check at the end, Everton should be utterly ashamed of themselves laying around on the floor to stop play, did it on at least three occasions and the ref did nothing but reward their behaviour.

Highlights what a poor bench we have because of cost cutting? If we still had Chicarito or even Obiang to come off the bench after 60 minutes, we could have won that type of game. Plus they had two of their best players out injured.

Need two new players in for Wednesday's game but it wont happen.

Rice Motm for me. Special mentions for Snodgrass, Zab and Oggy.

Moyes has got us at least fighting. A marked contrast from the whole team just jogging around for 90 minutes, giving no damns (for want of a better word) between them.

We'll finish14th...

I didn't see any progression today. In fact the only difference between the last two performances and the Pellegrini era was the use of Masuaku in midfield.

The same old issues were present. Our full backs left our holding midfielder and centre backs exposed. There was lots of backwards triangles without any end product and Haller looked as isolated as usual.

Moyes was the boards attempt at putting lipstick on the pig and pretending it was something much better.

Snodgrass, to his credit managed to keep his opposition at his back in those situations, the problem was no one was positioning themselves for Snodgrass to pass to. I want more of our players to turn the corner and run out from those central midfield positions rather than settling for a back pass to the keeper. It's up to the other players to make position themselves to receive the ball around the corner.

A good first half.
At least there is some ideas of how to organize the team and we started to run into the box much more.
But I can’t understand why Lanzini who always is left on the field and Fornals is taken off. Manu always gets out of steam after an hour, while Fornals keep on running and still has ideas..
Despite he can be blamed for the goal Zaba was my man of the match, together with the always reliable Ogbonna. Rice fine most of the game as was Snoddy for long periods. Haller, don’t think you can blame him at all, run his socks off and won 136 headers...
We should have won the game though...

Fully agree, it's good to press but you need to be able to replace like for like if possible and we simply can't.

TBF we also had two of our best players out injured.

Not entirely sure on this yet. We've had a soft run of 4 games so we'll have a better idea once we start playing some half-decent teams again.

Lanzini's playing now like we probably all thought he'd play when he first arrived – easily muscled off the ball on the dribble and unable to make it stick when it comes in to feet. Presumably Moyes is still clinging to the image he has of him from his first spell because it's Fornals who's getting the hook instead.

Not forgetting the linesman flagging offside from a throw in !

We were promised next level and we're supposed to be signing Lacazette, Batshuayi etc. etc. but have been pretty much toothless since we arrived in E20, except for a brief period when Arnautovic was played as a striker.

That's my feeling of it too. Moyes is probably remembering him linking up with Arnie and Mario etc and hoping he'll play himself back to that level.

Letting in one goal was a bit better than Pellegrini's customary three, while we scored our first goal all season from a header.

From small things, big things one day come.

It's going to take a change in playing personnel to make a marked improvement though.
