Let’s compromise...

How about

Hi Darren

You are much better than our current 2rd and probably better than our 3rd choice goalkeeper when you’re eventually fit.

Thanks

Given how well he did last season, think he will win over many of the doubters.

Can’t be any worse than he was when Slav finally had to drop the bloke. He was Roberto levels of poor

He wasn’t that bad! And he seems to have got better since being away. Championship keeper of the season!

Darren, when or if you ever play
DO NOT PASS THE BALL TO BALBUENA
1. He can’t pass the ball
2. He knows he can’t pass the ball so often turns away as if to seem disinterested
I seriously don’t think I can take another calamitous mistake with goalkeepers passing to Balbuena

WHilst Randolph is not the most overwhelming signing in the world, he is miles miles better than DAvid Martin who is not good enough to be a top flight back up in any way shape of form
There is a reason why he never played top flight football until he was 33, and was signed just to help the other keepers in training. I don't think he has even amassed 50 games in the second tier, 30 odd were in a relegation season

I appreciate there is a west ham connection at play, and Chelsea away was a great story, but David Martin is really really not good enough
Steady, you're talking far to much sense for here, there's people on here who rate goalkeepers by their ability to take penalties

Hi Darren.

You’re better than Roberto....

... that’s about all I’ve got.

That's all you got, eh? 2018-19 season:

  • Middlesbrough Player's Player of the Season

  • Middlesbrough Fan's Player of the Season

  • EFL Championship Team of the Season Goalkeeper

  • Republic of Ireland national team Player of the Season

Nothing like missing out a few important and relevant facts to suit your own agenda, pathetic. :fsake:

Those accolades suggest he's good in the championship. Fantastic preparation for next year, forward thinking that.

I wasn't too keen on the thought of him coming back because I felt he made a lot of errors the last time he was here. When I heard he's been injured as well it properly set the alarm bells ringing, this could be the craziest decision ever bringing him back. If he was 100% fit I'd be willing to give him the benefit of the doubt because as others have pointed out, he done really well at Boro.
But playing for our lot is a totally different kettle of fish. He'll be under pressure to perform well straight away given our precarious position, and what's gone on with the keepers who've filled in for Fabianski. The slightest error and it could be a case of here we go again, his confidence will take a big hit. Just hope he can stay injury free and his performances will help to get us out of this mess. Good luck to the guy.

Get Allen in and we’d be all set for fighting it out for that lucrative mid table spot in the championship next season

Pathetic? So it’s an inspiring signing then?

I understand he looked good in a Championship side but this is the Premier League, can he cut it here? Well oddly we have some experience of this, do you think he was good here last time?

Were you bothered when we sold him?

Last time round Randolph left because he didn’t want to be number 2 and wanted first team football.

We were happy to sell him because he couldn’t cut it for us.

What’s changed?

Other than both Randolph and West Ham are desperate.

Please don’t say I have agendas and that I’m pathetic just because I believe I have good reason to be underwhelmed by this signing.

We've just signed the best goalkeeper in the championship to replace our two tragic backups.

Forget for a minute any preconceptions, had he never played for us we'd all be pretty impressed.

Randolph is here because he is good value for the price. Apparently they still owe some money on his move so we wont even pay the 4 million.
In todays market he is decent value for a back up goalie all day long. No way the owners spend money trying to find a long term goalie in January, this was forced on them by Fabbys injuries and 2 points off relegation.
Now lets see how they address no back up striker and a midfield that needs some fresh legs, because if anything happens to Haller and Anderson at the same time we are down 100%

I'm afraid I can't forget that he played for us previously. He was a second rate keeper then and second rate keeper now.

When the driver behind the signing of a player is being able to net the fee off of a debt as opposed to the player being the right signing to make it's a bad signing.

He's the wrong age, wont be improving only declining and is starting to be injury prone.

Exactly the sort of player you should not be offering a 3 1/2 year deal to unless you are an utter fekwit named David Sullivan.

....Or you're planning on a full scale exodus of any quality you might have at the end of the season, and building a team that might survive in the Championship.
