What was the deal with the attacking corner kick set up?

Put everyone in the six yard box by the look of it, with two players blocking the keeper. Even if we scored by some miracle it would likely be disallowed for a foul on the keeper - proper 'put it in the pot' stuff...

It also left us woefully unguarded against a breakout direct from one of our corners - I'd wager money on Liverpool scoring directly from one of our attacking corners if we set up in the same way.

Damage limitation first half and go for it in second.

We're not fit enough to play all out for 90 minutes. It'll take a couple of weeks yet to get the fitness up. Shocking for a top club.

If that's the case, we might as well play the possession game that we started the season with. Backwards and sideways, recycle it from the flanks to mid, back to the backs and repeat whilst keeping possession - you know, like that away game at Aston Villa.

In that game we didn't over commit and there wasn't a flood of chances but we did keep the game under control. That was the polar opposite of what we were doing this Liecester match, where we just stood off and invited pressure. As much as the fans want us to emulated Liverpool's all-out high press, we just don't have the core for it. Pellerigini had the right idea until he panicked at the end and abandoned that style of play.

Ever since Pellers(near the end) was forced to go back to basics to accommodate Antonio as a forward in a 4-4-2(that's the point where he compromised his own system to appease the fans and board), our backs have given up the pretense of trying to play out from the back or even play it on the ground. They were given the license to go direct - in order to play to Antonio's strengths - and that's what they've been dong ever since. Nobody has been able to reign it in since and with Moyes now in charge, it's unlikely to be ever reigned in.

They are so scared to do anything else but pump and lump. In their minds, Haller and Antonio are the same, all they can see is there's a big lump of a target-man somewhere up the field, pump it and wipe their hands of any responsibility. After all, they can't be blamed if the ball is nowhere near them, right?

There was just one piece of good news from this match. At least we won't see that useless plodding Snodgrass again this season and we may yet have seen his last in a West Ham shirt. Rejoice in that news. His absence I would say slightly, but not by much, improves our chances of staying up

You can't help but think the Owners plans strike an uncanny resemblance to the Johnson public veneer of seeking a deal but heading on a course to leave without one, Brexit manoeuvres. Perhaps they think that the Premier League will unexpectedly change the rules of relegation to protect our decline come May. Or perhaps the Daves hold some incriminating evidence of deviant porno addiction on the part of those in charge of such matters. Though if so, they clearly do not have any over the referees and those running Var from most of the evidence so far even if the pen gave a moment of hope.

Presently however I can't see even the remotest evidence of any less surreal plans and schemes in the owners locker beyond accepting the real possibility of relegation, or would I be naive to use 'owners' and 'plan' in the same sentence.

Yes, to be honest. It's not why I watch the game of football.

Is winning 2-0 playing like Burnley better than losing 4-1 and playing like The Dog and Duck?

On balance, yes it clearly is better, but that's not really the point is it. If we can't strive to play a type of football that fans actually want to watch, there's no point in us even existing. We're clearly not going to challenge for any trophies so we'd essentially just be an inconsequential dullness. I'd like to be inconsequential and exciting at least.

I've heard that all of our training complexes (Rush Green, Chadwell Heath and a couple of others) cost £7.5m in total, and that Fleetwood Town spent £6m on theirs.

Our training facilities are literally at a league 1 level.

Local councils will spend about 6m on an individual school site on a new sports facility.

Our lack of investment in proper PL training venues shows them up for what they are. Chancers spending the bare minimum and cutting corners and this season it's all come to roost.

What’s most frustrating about this loss, was once we had pulled one back at the start of the second half, we really had all the momentum and you would have backed us to equalize and maybe win. You could see our tails up.

Our lack of pace and energy in midfield and in defense, even with Antonio and Fornals coming on, is so striking that we could not keep our momentum going for more than 15 minutes...
