Reliving the moment

Post by bubbles1966 » Sun Jan 19, 2020 9:02 pm

October 6, 2013
Tottenham Hotspur 0 West Ham United 3

West Ham played without a recognised centre forward and a "false 9".
Goals: Reid, Vaz Te, Morrison

August 29, 2015
Liverpool 0 West Ham United 3

We started with Tomkins, Reid, Ogbonna, Obiang, Kouyate and Noble - six centre halves or holding/defensive midfielders
Goals: Lanzini, Noble, Sakho

Which one would you most like a repeat of?

I don't know but I said to the wife that if we score another at Anfield after being 2 up I would run down the garden with my pants down.

Which I did :scarfer:

Would love a repeat of the Liverpool result.

Funnily enough, I fancy us to unexpectedly get a result at Anfield this year.

And then get relegated.

It would be so West Ham.

Winning at Anfield for me. We'd nearly done it a few times but to finally crack that hoodoo since the 60's.

Remember Holligan not squaring it for a tap in and blamed something in his eye?

Anfield, Not even close.

Seen wins away to Spurs before, seen them since and will see them again.

But Liverpool away, only won their 4 times and who knows when it will ever happen again.

Yep what Nero said.

Nothing comes close to winning at Anfield

Unlikely for another 53 years, sadly..

If you make it the 6th round of this year's FA Cup, I would happily have it at Tottenham's gaffe, tbh, even if I didn't have a chance of a ticket.

There is nothing in the world better, in my personal lexicon of football results, than a derby victory away in the cup

(see the 1-2 there 18/12/13)*

That's 8000 Irons taking the mike for a solid hour as their shiny new stadium has a fire drill in the other stands.

Where do I sign?

*EDIT; hadn't realised this, but that whole match is on YouTube -

Just a shame that you were at one of the Queen's garden parties, at the time..

Out of curiosity I decided to check how many away wins in all comps we have had v Tottenham.

Liverpool = 4
Tottenham = 29

If that happened today, you'd get back into the house to find the third had been ruled out by VAR

I've been to Anfield several times and am used to us being tanked, so to be in that crowd and watch us win 3-0 has to be one of my greatest days supporting this club. Take me back.

Anfield, for rarity value if nothing else.

Hard as it is demote Joey O'Brien's iconic shiteating grin as he was waiting to sub on at WHL.

This without doubt. I was going to Anfield season after season as I wanted to be there when (if?) we won.

We beat Sp*rs 2-1 in the cup a couple of weeks after the 3-0 and have already won at their new stadium. Probably be another 50+ years before we win at Anfield again.
