Would be interesting to see Ajeti. Imagine it turned out he was some sort of goal-scoring machine who only comes alive during match play!

Can't see it myself, but would be nice...

Cresswell is the one who is ridiculously scapegoated. He’s the better left back.

Presuming we have no Snodgrass, Masuaku, Ogbonna. I really want to see Noble rested, but wonder whether we have the choice. Zaba should be too, ideally.

I think we'll be set up 5-3-2 for this one.

I also think we'll lose 1-2.

BMLGirl wrote: Fri Jan 24, 2020 5:53 pm Won’t be many real West Ham fans there, and certainly not many who remember the final year at the Boleyn so I don’t think you need to worry. Stadium will be full of tourists and families as per usual
Are familes a bad thing? Young kids = future fans.

Last year I brought my girls to the Birmingham game (their first ever) and they loved it. My 8 year old was very excited but I almost had to talk my 12 year old into coming. Her expectations were very low as she has no interest in football. Turns out she loved the feeling of being in a packed stadium supporting a team. (obviously a sanitised version of what I experienced in the 80s but she has no concept of that).

So last week I mentioned to now 13 year old that we are at home in the cup, and does she want to go, and guess what? She is totally up for it this time!

Now I'm not saying she will go on to be a die hard fan, but as much as this board has foisted many **** things on us, kids for a quid is not one of them. It is potentially reaching out to a future fan base.

For the cost of £2 I can bring 2 new young fans to a game and have no worries that I'm wasting my money if the game is crap or they hate it.

As much as I think we should play a ‘full strength’ team (haha) and both take the cup seriously and get a winning mentality in the team, I can’t help agreeing that Nobes and Zaba should be rested and would therefore go:-

————————Randolph—————-

Ngakia———Balbuena———Diop———Cresswell

Kemp———-Fornals————Rice———-Lanzini

———————Haller————-Ajeti

Subs:- Martin, Sanchez, Zabaleta, Noble, Antonio, Scully, Cardoso

Presuming Antonio can’t face 90 mins today and Wednesday and resting the older legs it’s frightening just how thin this squad really is that so many unblooded players are going to be needed today. Can only hope the Baggies want to rest players for their promotion run.

Sanchez will probably play though.

As much as I didn’t think we’d get reinforcements in the first week of January, it is stunning incompetence that they would rather play with relegation than have dipped into their pockets by now.

Imagine that lot above against Liverpool on Wednesday and subject to injuries we probably won’t have to imagine, that reality/humiliation awaits.

No Diangana, no Perraira, no win in 6, easy game for the hammers.

no game is easy for us. I hope we don't rest players for the league as liverpoll will smash whatever we put out.

Randolph
nagkia diop Balbuena cresswell
fornals rice sanchez lanzini
haller ajeti

subs martin cardosa zabaleta reid noble scully kemp

1-0 hammers ajeti !

don't really want to play sanchez but what choice do we have. ideal game for Coventry and Holland but they have gone out on loan and surprise surprise not replaced !

Please give Rice a rest. I know we'll get smashed by Liverpool but he'll play and he needs a break. Can't afford to have him injured for Brighton.

Almost all of this clubs brightest days have been cup games. Yet there’s always supporters who want us to drop our best players so that they’re available for some random ‘survival’ game in the big fat premier league.

Why? Who gives a ****? I want us to win the FA Cup

Sam Byram is current playing at left back for Norwich, remember him?

Are you telling me you would rather have Byram, Masina, Rico, Targett, Stevens? Crystal Palace don't even have a substitute left back.

Not to mention that the higher up the league you go and the stronger the midfield and defence get the better Masuaku would look.

Fair enough you don't like him, but wouldnt get into any other squad? Do me a favour.

So now he's an adequate substitute left back?

Righto.
