Manchester City 2-0 West Ham Utd (19/02/20)
Might as well recycle...
Wednesday 19th February K/O 7:30pm
Sadly, we'll never know now, just how many goals we would have scored in that wind..

I'm going to the game and looking forward to it.We have absolutely nothing to lose at this stage, so lets go for it. Antonio, Haller and Bowen as a three up front.

Chance to redeem yourselves lads. I'm gonna be brave and say we'll get back 1 of the points we dropped today. 2-2 would do nicely.

Isn’t it sad that if we managed to get two remarkable points in our next two fixtures against City and Liverpool, we’d still only have the same amount of points that we would have done if we didn’t **** up so calamitously yesterday. We really do find ourselves in a dire situation.

I just hope we bring the lube, this is going to hurt!
Re: ⚽ Manchester City v West Ham United: Match thread (09/02)
So, who's going to be the culprit this week that commits the error leading to another goal. The usual suspects?, or will we have a new contender?
Just saw on MOTD, with today's result, we've now dropped 19 points from from winning positions. The slightest hint of pressure and our players turn into headless chickens. Any pressure and it's automatically 10 behind the ball packed 20 yards from the box - and yet still can't prevent crosses from coming in. It begs the question, what do they actually do in training?

If noble is anywhere near the pitch to take a pen it won't be for the winSofthammer wrote: ↑Sun Feb 02, 2020 12:41 am 2-0 to us. Haller with a stunner and ol Nobes on pen.

Our best hope is that with title race over and Man City comfortable in the top four they will turn their attention to the Champions League resumption. Go at them with Bowen and Antonio either side of Haller.
Man City 1-2 West Ham
Man City 1-2 West Ham

I genuinely feel that the games against City and Liverpool should be a bedding in period and a refining of how we want to play for the final third of the season. Let them go out and express themselves in preparation for the games that will define our season in the weeks ahead. Antonio and Bowen bombing forward and hopefully providing Haller with good service. Such a shame that we cant sneak Fornals into this team. Seemed to be finding form and then was withdrawn. He and Anderson (when fit) will be valuable additions either starting or from the bench. Noble has been a terrific servant for WHU but surely has to be one that makes way for the progression of Fornals and the new guys.Cellar-door wrote: ↑Sun Feb 02, 2020 12:10 am This is how I would line up (assuming no Anderson)

I was thinking similar last night. Moyes got lucky last time he was managing us and did well against a bunch of teams that had nothing to play for... we got to hope Tottenham don’t turn up for our cup final and city and Liverpool and everyone else that we play between now and the end of the season. Each game is a cup final for us if we want to stay in the premier league.

Even if City are thinking of other things they will still comfortably beat us. 3-0. And yet another soul destroying, lacklustre, inept performance from us.
And afterwards Moyes will say something like 'There were real positives today....blah...blah..blah'.
Let's just get this season over with.

Re: ⚽ Manchester City v West Ham United: Match thread (09/02)
Last season, it was the concession of one of the softest penalties for a long time that led to our undoing.
We normally play better against this lot on their ground, than in front of our own fans.
That's the best I can do, having had a scrape at the bottom of the barrel marked 'positive thinking'.
I have developed a real sense of hatred for Chris Wilder and the tactic he instilled in his team, which was to kick Anderson until he could no longer run and threaten his team with the ball. We have no wide left outlet, with him on the sidelines.
We have too many square pegs half-rammed into round holes.
This is one of those games where Moyes will just want to keep the negative g/d down as far as possible. We need another performance like that at Stamford Bridge, but I worry that our team's confidence is shot. Shot to tatters, in fact.
