Possible Takeover Bid ?

Post by Greatest Cockney Rip Off » Wed Feb 05, 2020 11:22 pm

Seeing some tweets about a possible takeover bid which have been endorsed by ex-WestHamEmployee as having some truth:

Convenient timing with the owners coming under increasing pressure....

I'd obviously love there to be some truth in this, hopefully there is. The cynic in me feels the board has a hand in drip feeding this news out to try and dampen the protest movement by offering some hope. I guess time will tell!

Usually Ex-WestHamEmployee is bang on with his info. Hopefully this'll come to something.

Even if it’s not true it’s lovely to pretend it might be.

Doesn't Ex always scream about the other fellow as being fraud? And now he's sourcing him? And, even if there is interest isn't it true the GSB simply won't sell whatever the case?

So..... meh.

It’s the knock on effect from Newcastle’s take over, we’ll end up with Ashley who will put all the players on zero hour contracts which is just about all some of them are worth at the moment

Is it the Saudi's going for their sportswash with us rather than Newcastle? Shoot me dead, call me a fool, but I would prefer GSB to stay if that was the case. And i have the 'GSB Out' T-shirt on as I type this.

Does sound suspect, smoke and mirrors who knows. At this stage the only likely legs in a takeover probably revolve around interest being expressed by those who see an opportunity by way the chaos and fears at the club and are asking questions to judge the reaction, or perhaps in one case exploiting the situation to put pressure on Newcastle to come to terms perhaps. Either way nothing will happen till the clubs fate is decided though it would be sensible to start the process now either way, to make sure things dont actually get worse thereafter and devalue your asset. But just as likely Sullivan is playing games for the most part to fit in with his others at the moment to confuse the opposition.

Absolute b*llocks that probably hasn't even come from the board. You have one massively attention seeking plum making **** up and another one endorsing it !

Oh well how does that song go again "then like my........"

I think Sullivan is here for a while yet and then will take a back seat and leave David Jr & Jack in charge.

I'm sure there are always investors sniffing around premier league teams.

the original account is a known troll that posts random, made up rumors 100x times a day. As for Ex, seems like a no-lose bit of news to jump on - well yes of course there are people out there that are "interested". Doesn't mean its going to happen or that GSB ever received more than a phone call.

Whilst a takeover would be lovely. Rid us of the Daves and get us some solid investment , we first need to actually play well enough to secure premier league football for next year otherwise we are going to be the richest team in the championship. Whilst this may sound great I dont see it being easy to get out of.. then if you do get out you have to attract players again.. who will want more money as we have just come up.. if we are a stable premier league club we can use what we have already (which in some departments is decent) and add to it.

Can't wait for the thrill of someone coming in and promising the next level and Champion's league in 5 yeas. It'll be a totally new experience!

Nobody would bother trying to buy us at Premier League cost at the moment would they. I would wait and buy at a hugely deflated price in June.

It seems like rubbish, and probably is at this point. However, I wouldn’t be surprised if someone with endless funds attempts to buy the club on the cheap if relegated.
