Re: Gareth Southgate
Win or lose tomorrow Southgate has made me like England again. Just look at some of the fists in that list of managers above. I hated the non-English ones who were paid fortunes to do the job. Looking at Gareth when he celebrates it really means something especially as in the depth of his mind he must have the miss in '96 lurking.
Good luck to the man he deserves and has earned the praise which will come his way.

I am a 48-year-old man and I am seriously considering wearing a three-piece suit to work today...

absolutely thoroughly great bloke.
i wonder if you'd have gotten longer odds for england reaching a final in 2018 or an england manager using the word "sartorial" in an interview.

Re: Gareth Southgate
Continues to be classy. I hope the press leave him alone regardless the semi result. We need him to continue.

Needs to be given 8 years to build on, and bring through, the progress of the youth systems.

Re: Gareth Southgate
I read somewhere that he wants continuity in style between the youth setups and the senior squad so hopefully, he will get that time.AnthraxDave wrote:Needs to be given 8 years to build on, and bring through, the progress of the youth systems.

Colombia was a birdie.
Today was an Eagle.
Astonishing. He’s got us going for a semi final. Earned his stripes.

Has some way to go before he catches The One, but he’s getting close.Crouchend_Hammer wrote:In my eyes he is the second greatest living Englishman after Carlton Cole
