Croatia by far the better side - but France have had a massive slice of fortune and then exploited the few moments they've had. Annoying.

Croatia very unlucky - I don't care what any of you say it was never a penalty and nothing you can say or show me will convince me other wise.

Pogba just shielded the ball for about 12 yards, blocking the attacker all the way - at what point does it become obstruction?

France did what they had to do in the second half to see this out, but they were gifted the 2 goals in the first. The final score does not tell an honest tale.

When you jump you use your arms for elevation. Arm above your head, unnatural position. But when you are coming down from your jump, so are your arms. What is one to do with your arms then ????

His arm was returning to his side (or wherever) and the ball hit his arm on it's way down. Not on it's way up.

Gravity dictates that his arm is coming down with him...

So how does the official(s) call hand ball ?????

:? :? :?

There were a lot of dodgy decisions in France's favour in the end - the offsidedness of the first goal (even the free-kick was a bit dubious);
whether or not it was a penalty it wasn't a clear and obvious error so the ref shouldn't have changed his mind;
the ref started to book France's cynical fouls but then started to ignore them;
he gave goal kicks for two clear corners;
awarded an offside when the player didn't touch the ball to deny another corner and even let Giroud walk in the opposite direction to shake his hand when being substituted!

Thought France have been quality throughout.

Have some real quality all over the pitch (maybe except Giroud)
Also a pretty young side too.

Would of liked to see the Croats win, but it wasn't to be.

I am pretty sure that he awarded a goal kick on the penalty decision so he didn't even see the Croatian player have the ball hit his arm......so from that stand point I suppose "clear and obvious" error was needed for the VAR to come into it, but they maybe notified the ref to take a second look and he should have gone with a corner.

End of..

ITV just did a bit on the free kick and the offside aspect looks onside with the lines. Didn't see what they said about the foul.

Vida's ball to hand at the end is a good example of what is it a penalty. The hyperbolic language being used about the Peresic decision is misplaced. The idea that this was a total error on the part of the referee is very wide of the mark.

France took their chances, but Croatia were excellent. They would have been worthy winners.

That's your opinion mate and you are well entitled to it.....

For me and many others, no penalty. You can say our language is wide of the mark.

What makes you more right in your assessment than us ? Because the penalty was given ?

When the ball hit Vida his arms were at his side. Natural position. How the bloody hell can you (or anyone) jump and keep your arms at your side. It ISN'T unnatural for your arms to be away from your side when you jump. Try it some time.
