kaliminchenko (sp?) for Ukraine seems like a very good player. Supposedly man utd are monitoring him at the moment.

i dont think kaka had that good of a tournament to be honest
and klose has scored goals but he pisses me off as he seems to bottle out of aerial challenges.

Klose has been the best striker in the tournament by a mile...thats excluding the goals!!!
So much so... I have no 2nd striker.
They have all been ****.
(Even Torres with 4 goals was pretty poor)

David Villa had a good world cup for spain, and a goalkeeper that was quite good apart form a mistake against brazil was the Japanese goalkeeper.
Thought Cannavaro was by far the best player of the tournament and Marquez for Mexico was also very good.
Thought Rio had another good world cup.

Miguel - Cannavaro - Marquez - Lahm
Pirlo - Maniche - Gattuso - Rodriguez

Ayala would push Marquez, as would Ballack for Maniche (3rd place play-off would decide it) and Torres for Klose.

Which largely explains why Brazil went out. Trust me, the guy has talent by the bucketful and will be Brazil's number 1 striker for years to come. I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up with more world cup goals than Ronaldo has.

Hardly set La Liga alight, though, has he. Looks like he needs to muscle up a bit if he's going to compete week in/week out in a tough European league. Got great skills & pace, undeniably, but definitely strikes me as being a bit lightweight to be a geuine world beater.

Well, he's about the same size as Michael Owen, maybe a few pounds lighter, and has more skill and pace than Owen ever had and, rightly or wrongly, Owen is largely considered to be a so called 'World beater'. Trust me, Robinho WILL become one of the greats.

Robinho is not a goalscorer though so I cannot see him overtaking Ronaldos record. Overhyped IMO.
