ASIAN BID TO GRAB HAMMERS
EXCLUSIVE:
West Ham are the subject of a projected takeover by an Asian consortium.
Pairoj Piempongsant, the Thai businessman who brokered two takeovers at Manchester City and was involved in the projected acquisition of Portsmouth, is playing a pivotal role in negotiations.
At the moment the two parties are miles apart in their valuation with the group offering £75million and West Ham wanting closer to £125m.
The consortium, whose investors are predominately from Thailand, are bound to raise alarm bells at the Premier League after claims that Thaksin Shinawatra, the controversial former Thai prime minister, is looking to invest in another Premier League club

Wealthy septics? Yeah cool
Wealthy Arabs? Meh - not to keen, but it wouldn't spark a revolt.
Thai investment with that utter tart Thaskin lurking behind it? No thanks.
Lucas is now looking increasingly unlikely.

Really would not be happy with anything involving Thaksin. It goes beyond what you want for West Ham, the guy is a murderer.
Anyway, Hack reckons it's BS.

Re: sunday's gossip includes west ham
It says they value the club about 50m below what CB Holdings wants at a minimum price so even if it is true whoopdedoo. We know that CB holdings will sell for the right price within 2 years - we just have to hope that when it does happen it isn't to criminals, knobs or anyone wanting to exploit the club for more $.

Friendly ire: Hammers clash with Werder Bremen clash called off
West Ham suffered a pre-season blow when their scheduled friendly against German Cup winners Werder Bremen was called off because of bad weather.
Friendy storm: James Collins and his Hammers team-mates were forced to train after their clash with Werder Bremen was postponed
Friendy storm: James Collins and his Hammers team-mates were forced to train after their clash with Werder Bremen was postponed
Gianfranco Zola's side had originally been due to travel 50km from their base to take on Bremen in Bad Waltersdorf before extreme weather conditions in eastern Austria led to the pitch being deemed unplayable.
Instead the squad had an extra training session on Saturday evening. Several senior first-team players had been set to get their first taste of pre-season match action after only joining up with the squad on Monday following games with their national teams in June.
Portugal's Luis Boa Morte was set for his first outing this summer along with England trio Robert Green, Matthew Upson and Carlton Cole.
New signing Luis Jimenez was also hoping to get his first taste of action in a West Ham shirt, although Scott Parker had not been expected to play after only three days of training this week.
The Hammers hope to continue their summer schedule in Austria against Bursaspor on Wednesday and then at Slovenian side ND Mura 05 on Thursday.

Re: sunday's gossip includes west ham
Makes sense to offer Upson the captaincy.
Who'll replace Neill now? Worth giving Spector a go?
Nice work CH (as ever).
