And why would Hawaii hate the Seahawks? Weird.
Yeah, that one is weird. Maybe traditionally Rams and 9ers territory?

I know there's a big Seahawks following in Alaska, including a supporters club that flies down for every home game.

What's surprising to me is that hatred of the Pats in the heartland. You have the Chiefs and Broncos covered that area, and they're natural rivals from back pre-merger, and both also hate the Raiders. Had a friend who lives in St. Louis point out that their getting cheated out of a SB by the Pats is still very much part of the local consciousness there.

I have not. Not planning to either, tbh. Read some reviews about it being overly sympathetic but regardless had too much exposure to the story as it unfolded. My brother has been involved in the world of scholastic athletics in Connecticut for decades, has known the likes of Marcus Camby, Vin Baker and many other pros since they were in junior high school. He was aware of Hernandez before he went to Florida - a very well known figure locally. Have heard loads of stuff since he was being recruited. Am perfectly content with moving on from the story..

Yeah, I didn’t hear anything about it before I watched it and I wish I had. It was compelling, but it played out like click bait entertainment. I’m sorry I watched it. Trying to blame his behavior on his inability to deal with his sexuality or on CTE just feels dirty and reckless.

What Florio had to say on the subject:

Aaron Hernandez documentary meanders through vague efforts to excuse his murders

I recall clearly Wes Welker being interviewed on the Dan Patrick Show right after he went to Denver and when the first stuff about Hernandez's misdeeds as a pro were coming to light. It was a casual and easy-going interview until DP mentioned Hernandez. Welker clammed up. You could hear the fear in his voice as he took a pass on answering. The ended up replaying it after the Hernandez stuff hit the fan and it was eerie.

Bloody difficult to call.

49ers have a great defence, can they keep Kansas under 30 points? If so their offence can put that on the board and take the win.

Chiefs have been starting slowly in games as well.

Could be an epic game. Hoping for a Chiefs win. 31 - 27

I’ve always followed the 9ers, so will be rooting for them. However, Mahomes is such an enjoyable player to watch and the Chiefs have been the AFC team that I always keep an eye on.

It’ll be close with the SF D-Fence having such a good season up against the attack of KC. However, I think Garoppolo will be overshadowed by his opposite number and so a win for the Chiefs 27-24

Better D and a better running game would normally get my vote. Actually, I think it still does. I really don't want to see the 49ers win, but I think they're good in the right areas. Their D line is very athletic and I can see them putting together a good contain Mahomes plan. Half time adjustments might determine the winner in this one. I'll be rooting for the Chiefs, but I think 49ers win a close one 28-26, something in that range.

No idea :D

Usually makes sense to go with the more experienced coach, which would be Reid. Plus the Chiefs have Spags as their DC, and he's actually won one.

Will take the under.

Coin flip will be tails. :arry:

A notable difference (in their favor) is that the Chiefs have stable, fan-friendly family ownership.

Rumors from years back that Clark Hunt was interested in purchasing West Ham unfortunately did not have any legs.

Got the coin toss correct! :scarfer:

Oh, should mention before he screws up, Bill Vinovich is one of the worst refs in the National Football League. Would not be surprised for there to be a bonehead call at a critical time.

This is a great superbowl. 49ers looking on top now.

Chiefs are going to have to find some way to get offence going or they are done.
