was taking my tee shot on the 11th (i think) when we heard an almighty crash, and one of the large trees came down onto the green, just missing a 4 ball and one of the blokes dad and young son in a buggy, crushed his trolley and clubs though but they were very lucky indeed.

then when we were on the 17th another large tree came down on the 16th - but we didnt see that just heard it
Crikey! I presume that day the wind was rather strong!

Played at Parque de Floresta in Portugal last week. Lovely course, lovely weather but the wind was incredible in some places!

Langdon hills yesterday

36 points

2 pens in the last 2 holes (in the water off tee on 18 and lost ball on 17) cost me a chance at winning the event.. 38 points was the winning score

nice course , however greens had just been spiked.. wasnt good

Panshanger today

Pretty decent considering all the rain recently

30 points but some great strikes

Let down by first 8 greens that had a lot of dew on so made lag putts very hard

played cranham yesterday - its in really good nick

played OK - 28 points

Just wanted to add that now you have to book a tee time its really sorted out the playing times - only got held up on a few par 3s really - when it was turn up and pay it was a nightmare

Your right it's really good now for time. The online booking is simple and good

The only time I've seen it work well when it was turn up was when they had a starter and he wouldn't let you tee off until after the group left the green

After that no holds up

Much better know tho

Always in good nick I find, one of best around for winter

My major gripes with Cranham are:

Overcrowding (which sounds like they are solving).

Lack of facilities: Bar, changing room showers etc. Last time I played there was over 18 months ago when it looked like they were expanding the clubhouse etc... has this been completed? Sometimes when you come off the course and it's been raining a shower, a change of clothes and a quick pint in the bar is what's needed.

they couldnt get an alcohol licence so no beer - no showers either

they could also do with a putting green

Putting green by the first tee and maybe a net to warm up

If they added them it would be an even better little course

Bargain price

Yes it's open and easy but great to practice tour short game and approach play

Oh and the cafe was decent when I had it

Went to school with the fella who's doing it up. They're still trying to get the booze licence (not sure how that's going) but they're planning on making it a bit more multi purpose too, mentioned stuff like whiskey tasting nights etc.

Hopefully they get it.

I keep hearing rumours that the 2 local pubs are the ones that are somehow blocking them from getting their alcohol licence... not sure how they could though
