Athletics big problem is by having a real, genuine purge on drug cheats and actually banning them, they'd be left with a starting lineup of 'who'?

When the Jamaican drug train eventually unravels it may get upgraded to gold one day. Don't trust Fraser Pryce at all. How can any of their athletes be trusted.

At least with nobody in the stadium, receiving a medal in your living room at a later date will be exactly the same experience.

Looking forward to seeing Miller Uibo get underway in the 400m . An amazing athlete. Still think if she was picking one then the 200m was almost guaranteed.

Think she'll get 400m gold but there are bigger dangers for her there with regard to opponents.

That said it opens the 200m up for Asher Smith. There is nobody there now that she can't beat whereas Miller Uibo has everyone's number .

What's the point of banning people for using drugs? There'll always be people trying to cheat the system with new undectable drugs.

Just open it up, legalise everything.

I still think Ben Johnson was the funniest drug cheat, just rocks up in the late 80s and dry ****'s Carl Lewis without even having to try back when 9.79 was unbelievably fast.

Have always said Farah's improvements were just not feasible after being an also ran until about 26.

Missed drug tests, hanging out and training with proven cheats

Farah loves to play the innocent but he can't expect people to believe he went from 6/7 place in major champs to having a better record on the track than Gebreselassie and Bekele after moving to Oregon.

This includes winning the 10k in Doha with a closing 1500m of 3.59!!! To contextualise that, she'd have a chance of a medal in the 1500m with that time .

It's hard to believe that none of these fairly mature (career wise) athletes had an adequate coach before Salazar,although admittedly the NOP is very well resourced

It was WADA that told American athletics to drop the case though, as it was them that made the mistake or not followed the correct procedure. To be fair to Coleman he doesn't look like he is juicing and has the least athletic physique of any sprinter I can remember.

Fraser-Pryce must have been clean to get pregnant and carry the baby full term, and both Carter and Powell have tested positive in the past, so the Jamaicans do get caught.

It was easier in the old days when Johnson and Flo-Jo's yellow eyes gave the game away. :lol:

****ing hell Nasr just ran 48.14 , only the big cocked Eastern Europeans have ever run faster. Uibo should have chosen the 200m, it's her better event and Nasr was always a massive danger but not much more she could do, she ran the 6th fastest time in history and still lost.

What would you say, personally, is the most “impressive” athletics event for application/ability etc?

I can’t quite comprehend how fast marathon runners run - non stop, for just over 2 hours. They are super human to me, it is insane.

Also, the high jump. How they clear 2.3m+ is beyond me.
