Re: Tennis
Hopefully Halep will beat Williams today and then tomorrow I would like to see Federer beat Djokovic. I'm far from a Federer fan and I do find him a smug git, but he's smug for a reason, he's ****ing good. Djokovic is not bad himself obviously, as World No.1, but he is a bit of a dullard and I have struggled to warm to him over the years. It must be very frustrating for Djokovic that he hasn't been able to endear himself to the public the way Federer, Djokovic and a certain lad from Dunblane, Sir Andy have, but he has many millions in the bank so it's not all bad.

Re: Tennis
With the rise of some very good and highly promising younger players, which there can be no doubt, the game desperately needs, I thought this year we might see a changing of the order, but alas no, the old guard have seemingly raised their games to new levels

Re: Tennis
Personally think that is down to Federer being the first of these "super players". Djokovic seems like a nice guy , intelligent , speaks 5 or 6 languages , never speaks out of turn. Has beaten Federer 19-9 since 2011 and overall has a better record.Chicken Run Supreme wrote:Djokovic is not bad himself obviously, as World No.1, but he is a bit of a dullard and I have struggled to warm to him over the years. .
Federer undoubtedly great but many of his grand slams were won against nobodies. Most of Djokovic's against the other big 3. The level of tennis he's played at times has never been bettered to my mind.

Re: Tennis
I do expect Djokovic to win tomorrow. He is just so consistent at this level and as much as Federer has a superb Wimbledon pedigree, Djokovic will just have enough to keep in front. Djokovic to win in 4 sets, but I'd be more than happy to be proved wrong.

Re: Tennis
They're both pretty likeable guys , no hint of the bellend about either that you might expect from two of the greatest in their given sport.
Expect Djokovic to get too many balls back for Federer to beat him tomorrow but there's not much in it

Re: Tennis
Nice to see Halep take Williams apart; so gracious and fresh in victory as well.
Like to see Federer do the business tomorrow. Nothing against Djokovic, It's just Roger is my favourite player of the modern era.

Hard to disagree with you TOMoS, although I would say Borg has to be there as well. Mind you, my favourite ever player was Becker. The way he threw his body around the court with a never-say-die attitude was fantastic to watch.

Nice turnaround .
laptop got the tennis on and the t.v. got the bike race.
so I am going back and forth like they do watching tennis.....
some of the shots being played here defy what should be played.
Federer is the Tiger Woods of tennis - improvises so much
