Saw that earlier. That’s downright embarrassing. TCU almost pulled a good trick play on a kick off return but got called for the forward pass on the return. Entertaining game OSU v TCU Was. Had just about everything.

Had the UT game on and went back and forwards to the OS/TCU game..

interestingly enough they both broke open and ceased to be competitive about the same time....

have to take a look at next week's games to see who's worth a look....

not much cop this coming weekend....not that I can see anyway, but I am no authority..

two games that might have some action...

TCU @ U. Texas

Texas coming off over a win against a pretty crappy USC..

TCU putting up a great effort against OSU.

Texas Tech @ Oklahoma State....

wonder what the over/under points will be for this game........over 100 TT/UH last Saturday..

OS put up 44 last week and TT put 63 on UH.......

might be a decent watch............

Nebraska at Michigan, two storied programs both desperate for a win. Both with alum coaches who were former QB's.

Texas A&M at Alabama looks like the SEC game of the week, although Florida at Tennessee could be fun.

Mystery matchup of the week: Duquesne at Hawaii. Wny is a small Catholic school in the A10 traveling all the way from Pittsburgh to Hawaii in the middle of the academic semester? Someone definitely getting paid here. :arry:

The Cornhuskers lost 3 straight at home (I guess counting last season) for the first time since like 19 something or another....

they used to be perennial contenders back in the day (when they ignored machine guns in the dorms and on campus rapes) ...allegedly...

Michigan - yeah a pretty good programme too back in the day...

on paper Alabama should be way to strong for A & M especially in Tuscaloosa ...

scratching my head about that Duquesne........didn't know that was on the slate..

think Ill be watching the two I looked at and posted about.....

Florida and Tennessee used to be a real biggee....isn't that where the river runs alongside the stadium and they arrive by boat and is the biggest cocktail party in college football or have I got the stadiums wrong ????

World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party is Georgia vs. Florida. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Florida%E ... ll_rivalry

Michigan football historic to the early days. Nebraska big since the 40's I'd say. From 1962 they had 40 winning seasons. For years they were a prime example of corruption and poor sportsmanship. Only major university in the entire state so have always had a recruiting advantage. This is their first 0-2 start since 1957.

my memory sucks at times...can recite every word from some obscure song back in the 60's but can't remember where my keys, wallet are or why I went into the (insert any room in the house) to get something....

At least five current Nebraska team members are facing charges or have been either convicted or placed on probation

1995.

CBS News and Sports Illustrated have combined their resources to perform an expose on college football players with legal problems. They focused on last season's preseason Top 25, and found that Nebraska ranked in a tie for 19th place in terms of players with a police record with four. That's actually on the low end. Leading the list are the Pitt Panthers with 22 players having had some sort of police issues. Iowa tied with Arkansas for second with 18. Boise State and Penn State tied for fourth with 16.

2011

That blessing proved temporary. Phillips has been incarcerated for almost 10 years, and now death has followed him to prison. Last week, officials at California's Kern Valley State Prison announced that Phillips is suspected of having killed his cellmate. (The deceased cellmate, Damian Soward, was the cousin of former USC and Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver R. Jay Soward.) As Phillips was already serving a 31-year sentence for multiple violent crimes, it seems a good bet he will die behind bars.

Over the years, there have been many college football superpowers that combined on-field domination with an air of off-the-field menace. The Barry Switzer-era Oklahoma Sooners, for instance, featured players freebasing cocaine on gamedays and firing Uzis to break up snowball fights. And thanks to a pair of excellent "30-for-30"

2015

Yep, them ole Cornhuskers won a title here and there, but wow, there certainly were some things that went on that were "tolerated" in the name of winning a national title...

Am sure there are other examples, but for meL

The poster boy for Nebraska is Lawrence Phillips

The poster boy for Oklahoma is Marcus Dupree (the single most impressive running back I've ever watched in college football.) His story captured here: http://www.espn.com/30for30/film?page=t ... -never-was

Oregon v Stanford was a nail biter. Oregon should have won this one fairly easily, but they shot themselves in the foot one too many times. Great resilience by Stanford, but I don’t think they’re a top 10 team.

The Cadets almost pull off one for the ages, losing in OT vs. Oklahoma in Norman. Were driving for a winning field goal and had a tough luck deflected INT. OU then missed a FG at the of regulation but sealed the deal in overtime. Almost...

Stanford-Oregon a great watch in the second half. Amazing come back against Team Nike and their uglyasshit unis. David Shaw an excellent coach.

Shaw's a pretty humble guy as well. He's a very likable man. I should probably like Stanford seeing as they're in my neck of the woods, but I have a hard time getting behind the future master's of the universe. They keep the real estate market off the charts expensive here. Makes me surly.

If UT wins by less than 14 there needs to be an investigation.
If UGA wins by less that 21 points there needs to be an investigation
I expect Standford to eke out a win a South Bend despite some fancy reffing
The OSU should beat PSU if they don't turn the ball over.
Can't see UW losing to BYU but can't imagine I'll be watching that.

I'll check in on Purdue at Nebraska in the hopes that the Huskers nightmare season continues..

I missed most of the day but was flipping back and forth from Ohio State-Penn State and Stanford-ND.

The 10pm Pac 10 & MountainWest kickoff times are tough to manage when you have to wake up at oh dark thirty to catch the West Ham! :asleep:
