oh, you misinterpret. I live in NYC, and waking up at dawn on a Saturday ruins the rest of the day. Was bleary eyed and quite happy at 10am. Rest of the day was spent like the NY Giants offense - stuck in the muck. And yes, I know the Giants played Sunday - watched that one too :P

Nebraska held out for you !!!!!!!!

Texas v Oklahoma this weekend......

Notre Dame v Virginia Tech might be the only other decent game this coming weekend......

No worries. With the West Ham match on FRIDAY afternoon, should be well focused on Saturday. 8-)

Watched some of the Purdue-Nebraska game, just to watch the Cornhusker fans suffer. Does that make me a bad person? :D
Nebraska coach had called the game "winnable" ahead of time and in the 4th quarter the field mic was picking up the Purdue players shouting "winnable" at the Nebraska sideline. Classic.
Texas v Oklahoma this weekend......
"Tickets starting at $244.30"

Noon start, catering to the needs of the old folks. Same deal with Ohio State-Michigan every year.

FSU @ Miami will be entertaining. Will play their nuts off and will be big for recruiting.

Kentucky @ Texas A&M is your SEC game of the week. Kentucky's big chance to be taken seriously or to continue their tradition as a conference doormat.

And we will find out a lot about Notre Dame on a cold night in bucolic Blacksburg, Virginia.

few games this weekend to maybe catch the eye, although some were better than expected last Saturday.

#7 Washington v #17 Oregon
#2 Georgia v #13 LSU - after their thumping they'll be looking to bounce back maybe ?
#15 Wisconsin v #12 Michigan

just going by the rankings, I don't know loads at all about College Football..in fact I don't know anything

early doors, but some of the early games are going well..

unranked Pitt @ #5 Notre Dame ahead 7-6
unranked Baylor home to #9 Texas ahead 7-3
#7 Washington @ #17 Oregon ahead 10-3
#2 Georgia @ #13 LSU behind 0-3 but tried a fake f-g and got stuffed.

wish I had loads of tellies !!!!!

:D

Pitt still ahead 14-12 4th quarter
Texas opening up a lead 23-10
Washington Oregon 17-17
LSU mauling the Dawgs 16-0 3rd quarter just started

these are some cracking games...can't turn off the LSU game.. now 19-9, 2 pt conversion stuffed !!!

Oregon/Washington 24-24 sounds like a cracker too..
Texas now 23-17
ND ended up winning a tight one 19-14

games are going to get really tasty here soon, with more top ranked teams playing each other...

103K at the LSU game so they say..

looks like the LSU game is over....game over man, game effing over.........

LSU 29-9

now over to the Washington game..

punter for Oregon is Australian if I heard it correctly ...

30-27 Oregon in o.t.

looks like another full house......

great weekend of college football...

and more to come

not sure that there's a great lot of games involving top teams this weekend....

one that might not be bad, throw the form book out of the window...

#6 Michigan @ #24 Michigan State.

#12 Oregon @ #25 Washington State

that's really about all I can see that might make a decent watch..........

I am sure there would be smaller/non 25 ranked teams that will make some good games, but there really isn't "on paper" close good top ranked teams playing each other....

#9 Oklahoma @ unranked TCU

38-27 ...and it ain't even halftime yet...

and I am committed to go out this after to some function or another....very soon....

:(

well that got away from TCU - 52-27

#2 Ohio State loses to unranked Purdue 49-20 !!!!

guess the biggest game involving the top team is:

#9 Florida @ #7 Georgia

probably some smaller games of interest to some people but this looks like it could be a cracker...

season beginning to come to some interesting teams playing each other, coupled with end of November-ish, conference championships....

Some big D3 New England rivalries this weekend. I went to a D3 school so I still scan that column of the paper.

Bowdoin @ Wesleyan University
Tufts University @ Amherst College
Colby College @ Bates College
Middlebury @ Trinity College (CT)
St. Lawrence @ Ithaca

and the great part about those schools would be that the rivalry is still as intense and those kids will be playing just as hard as those on the 3 p.m. game on CBS.

Oh yeah, the quality is excellent. They're just generally smaller, or not as quick etc. But these are genuine student athletes and not the 'professionals' in all but name that the big D1 programs roll out. Fun to watch once in a while.

couple of good games going on...

#9 Florida 7 @ #7 Georgia 10 2nd quarter

#21 S. Florida 0 @ unranked Houston 14 2nd quarter

#12 Kentucky 3 @ unranked Missou 7

nothing much in the way of night games by the look of it.....

belter of a game in Georgia...23 - 17 Georgia...they also had a 1st and goal from about the 1. Florida stopped them on 1st and 2nd down. pass interference in the end zone, 1 and goal from about 2 feet as it was half the distance, plus and unsportsmanlike conduct from the bench (I think) and they stopped them again 3 times. F.G.

brilliant....

game just broken open......35-17 now Georgia.

S. Florida now losing 43-29 in 'ouston

50-36 now

Kentucky still losing @ Missou 14-3.

still same score here.......Kentucky @ Georgia next week I think they said,.....

#13 West Virginia @ #17 Texas should be a ding dong....

42-41

#6 Georgia @ #9 Kentucky

34-17  too easy for teams this close.....

best game of the weekend I reckon is:

#1 Alabama @ #3 LSU

7-0 right now, close to the end of the 1st qtr.

new rule "targeting" must be similar to the new NFL rule...overturned...

16-0 @ h-t

Roll Tide.......

Image

good film to be fair....

300+ yards of offence first half for 'bama....

Champion in waiting.....

best team (or thereabout) in college football. and the best still keep getting better by recruiting the best...

29-0 1 v 3 should be much closer but that's how good Alabama is...

#7 Oklahoma 35 v unranked Texas Tech 34

Felt like Alabama could have doubled that score if they wanted to. There isn't another school out there that's remotely near being able to compete with them this year. A stat the Gary Danielson mentioned yesterday: in the draft earlier this year, Alabama had a 1st rd draft pick at every position on both sides of the ball, except at QB. That's ridiculous.

on tap this weekend:

#10 Ohio State @ #18 Michigan State.... on paper should be a bit of a mismatch but you never know

didn't upset anyone 26-6

#24 Auburn @ #5 Georgia another one that on paper.........

#19 Texas @ unranked Texas Tech - back in the day TT would hang 50 odd points up here.... no love lost

don't see too many match ups worthy of spending 4 hours watching...the Tide/Tigers game last week put me off...

#11 Kentucky 7 v unranked Tennessee 24 @ about a minute+ to go...

BIG upset...and a pretty big SEC rivalry game............

looks like cha-ching cha-ching weekend for a load of schools...some who really have no realistic business by even begin on the same field as their opponent...

unranked Rice (1-10) @ #7 LSU (8-2)
unranked Citadel (4-5) @ #1 Alabama (10-0) Citadel 17- Alabama 50
unranked Massachusetts @ #5 Georgia (9-1) UMass 27 - Georgia 66
#10 Ohio State (9-1) @ unranked Maryland (5-5) Holy Terrapins Batman USU 52 - Maryland 51
I think it was OT also..Maryland coach went for 2 point conversion which would have won the game but they missed it......

and these are not conference games either...or schools that would normally be ranked but are having an off year.......

best game of the day might be

#16 Iowa State @ #15 Texas

Cracker of a game I am watching #9 West Virginia @ unranked Oklahoma State 41 - 38 3 minutes left

now 41 - 45 and only 42 seconds left......

WVU had a bloody good go....set up at about 15 yards line - having marched all the way down field - 2 seconds left....missed the pass completion...final score as above....
