He shouldn’t face too much pressure. That Ferrari is made for this track.

Leclerc will be told to behave himself

High speed crash for Lewis in FP3 - not sure what happened. Just seemed to lose it on a dry track without anyone else there, very unLewis like. I'd be surprised if they can put the car together in any kind of state for qualifying (without penalties as well) . That said it is not a bad track to write off for him and Lewis doesn't really like this one either.

And writes into the SKYs - season not over yet narrative.

Ferrari front lock out.

But major news is the F2 crash. Video is horrible and just been confirmed Hubert has died from his injuries.

Wonder if the F1 race will go ahead tomorrow, I imagine it will but that was a horrific accident.

F1 Race goes a head, first death at an offical event world wide since 2015. Cars are far safer than the where, but they can never be 100% safe.

Possible changing of the guard today at Ferrari. Vettel instructed to let Leclerc pass and made to play ‘wing man’ to try and hold up Hamilton.

Not the role of a number one driver.

In the end Vettel effort gave his team mate his first win. Lewis needed one more lap.

By that, did you mean win the race, be quicker than his team mate who is asked to move over?

Six successive GP's now where Leclerc has qualified higher than Vettel, the No. 1 driver who was told to let his team mate through, that's gotta be tough for Vettel.
Hamilton has crushed him mentally and now it seems his team mate will do the same.
I am convinced that if last season and this season if you flipped Hamilton and Vettel into each others cars, Lewis would be currently going for a successive F1 championship as a Ferrari driver.

Hamilton has a poor record in making an inferior car place higher than it should.

He is undoubtedly brilliant when in the best car (many aren't) but when faced with a car that isn't the best, he's pretty average.

It's easy with all of Mercedes' dominance to forget the 2009 to 2013 seasons .

I don't agree with that at all, Hamilton is brilliant at pulling a quail lap out of the bag when clearly second best. Last weekend Ferrari were clearly best but Hamilton was a lap away from winning. In fact I'd say completely the opposite, he is great at winning where is shouldn't (and rather good at winning when he should).

In race trim the Merc wasn't really the inferior car , I thought that was reasonably clear.
Last season there was the odd race where the Ferrari was superior and he did in all fairness punish Vettel.

Vettel is pretty much shot though. Verstappen is beating him in a far inferior Red Bull (when he's not trying push his car through Kimi)

Look at the seasons where he wasnt in a front running car. 4th or 5th.
Good luck to him though, he's doing everything he should and more. Can see why they extended Bottas' contract though

Hamilton was still winning GP's in a McLaren that was in decline as Vettel was dominating in a superior Red Bull.

What makes Hamilton so great is not just his ability to win when in a superior car, but also to still find a way to win races when he is in an inferior car. Those are not my words but those of Fernando Alonso - it may not be a word for word quote, but you get the gist of it.

Leclerc and Verstappen will be future F1 champions for sure and rivals for years to come, but for now Hamilton is the one they are all chasing.

Vettel really is going backwards it seems as Leclerc has settled really well into Ferrari and as said above which i didn't know has out qualified Vettel in 6 consecutive races and theres certainly been a few races the strategy he has been put on was poor and Vettel was on better strategies.

I think its going to be an interesting year ahead. Vettel ha one more year left after this season ends and Hamiltons also ends with Mercedes at the same time.

Depending on how Leclerc is getting on would Hamilton consider it? Hamilton surely is going to make it 6 championships this season, then if he can repeat it net season he will tie at the top with 7 - he could then go to Ferrari and bring them back the glory and also make him the most successful F1 driver ever

I think i would actually love him to go to Ferrari and end his career there. It would also be amusing as there is alot of hate from Ferrari fans but will be amusing to watch them go full circle if he went there and then won the championship.

Anyway with Monza coming up this weekend it must be another Ferrari show on the cards and whether Hamilton can get in amongst it.
Verstappen starting from the back of the grid will no doubt make it a 4 horse race at the front with maybe Albon thereabouts.

Currently in Monza for the Grand Prix weekend. Part of the world tour bucket list.

I must say I can’t see what the fuss about Monza is. It’s literally like being transported back to the 1960s. It’s basically falling down!

Rain on Sunday will make it interesting....

What a bunch of absolute melts.

All jockeying for position on the last qualifying outlap and none of them bar Carlos Sainz got around in time to start the flying lap

As far as stupidity is concerned , the equivalent of playing the ball to the corner flag when you are two nil down (apart from Leclerc obviously)

All nine called to the stewards and in other news it has been decided after review that Vettel did not exceed track limits (apparently non-broadcasted angles cast doubt) - FIA to the rescue.

All of them bar Sainz should have been sent to the back of the grid for today's race
