Well this just typifies our top order this series doesn’t it? Lovely batting deck and not one of them can get a score on it.

Smith will get these runs on his own, in his sleep. And I can’t see them declaring considering they only need a draw for a series win, let alone already retaining.

Reprieve for Curran. Let’s hope he can make something of it.

Sorry, but that Curran hasn't got a brain . Given a reprieve, he still doesn't learn from it and bats like there's no tomorrow when a bit of patience and resilience was required

Sooner we can get a new coach in to sort this lot out the better.

Curran trying to hit everything out the park and goes for 15 slashing at one outside off stump.

Australia have a great bowling unit but we are just giving wickets away.

And now Woakes goes for 2.

So much for Paine being scoffed at deciding to bowl. Marsh is ripping through us and looks more effective than all of our mob with the ball bar Broad and Archer when he's in the zone.

Mitch Marsh career best figures.

Put a fork in us, etc etc. Been second best all series and not had the armoury like the Aussies have.

Bit harsh that Puff, it's nipped a bit and Archer who is coming in at 9 had nicked it. Fair dismissal in my opinion

Why do I feel more comfortable with Leach at the crease than any of our top order batsmen?

Pretty sure every Australia side have a hat where they draw out set roles every series.

Hazlewood gets to be the lanky streak of piss one who snarls a lot and calls everyone a **** every ball. Wade the gobby crap one who gets put at short leg etc.

Very handy runs there.

Well played Buttler and Leach.

Pleasing seeing the Aussie attack being run into the ground.

He’s a tailender who got a good ball - plenty to criticise today, Archer’s dismissal not one of them

Well played from Buttler and Leach.

You can't dig out Archer for his batting. Fast bowlers used to be unable to even hold a bat.

Well that was an utter bag of *****. Does my f*cking swede in they just keep doing the same thing over and over again. To paraphrase Shane Warne, we haven’t played 50 tests over the last few years-just the same one 50 times.
If we draw this Test then (IMO) I would describe the summer as just about average....if it goes the way it’s looking and it ends up 3-1 then it’s disappointing. We’ve gone way too far in terms of focus and mindset towards white ball and the WC. We need to get some focus and clarity back into the way we develop players (batters) to play Test Cricket. I’m almost at a point where thinking a drubbing in this last Test may do more long term benefits than a win.
I love Root the batter but don’t like Root the captain...tactically inept, and seemingly good with rolling out excuses as to why we lost the series based on comments this week. God knows who you make captain though!

Apart from watching this series with avid addiction, I have also enjoyed Nasser Hussain's little mini series and conversations with Kevin Pieterson. I never knew Pieterson had a sense of humour, but this series has evidenced that he does
