Pissing it down in Essex. Looks like it could be a wash out today.

Re: England Cricket Summer 2019 ODI World Cup and Ashes
Today will be a washout.
Tomorrow will be a full day of play.
Friday likely to be some play but long stoppages also. Could be a washout.
Saturday likely to be mixed with some play and some stoppages.
Sunday likely to be a full day of play.
Looking at that, you’d say a draw is most likely. Presuming there is no play today, the toss will be absolutely vital tomorrow as whoever bats then will have the best conditions. Friday morning will be overcast so you want to be bowling, unless you’re still batting into the 300s, 400s etc.

Re: England Cricket Summer 2019 ODI World Cup and Ashes
This whole test is looking already like a nailed on draw given the amount of play likely - unless we have the expected England batting collapse.
So that'll be 2 tests gone and us still 1-0 down, and needing to win the series to win back the Ashes.
I'm still scratching my head as to how we had them 8-122 first innings and with a 90 run first innings lead but still lost by 255.
Even this early on, that could well have been what cost us the series.

Cant be much fun being at Lords today, unless you're in sitting in the Long Room enjoying a fat lunch and getting beered up with your mates

Not surprised, London is wetter than an otter's pocket today.

To be fair, even though there has been no play, TMS do a great job of helping us office-based twats pass the time!

Imagine if you were lucky enough to score a day 1 ticket for England vs Australia.

My mate managed this. Didn't even bother going knowing it would be a washout, he does have tickets for Saturday and Sunday though so he's not done too badly.sendô wrote:Imagine if you were lucky enough to score a day 1 ticket for England vs Australia.

I have tickets for day one at the Oval. Am hoping England are still in with a chance of winning the ashes and, of course, that it doesn’t rain.sendô wrote:Imagine if you were lucky enough to score a day 1 ticket for England vs Australia.

Re: England Cricket Summer 2019 ODI World Cup and Ashes
Huge toss to be won this morning. If England win it, we have a chance of a win if we get a first innings score of over 300. If Australia win it, we’re playing for a draw from the off IMO.
They’ll probably manage three and a half days play total in this test.

How the f*** did he manage that? Paying over the odds? I've all but given up going in for the ballots now, although admittedly I forgot this year.bondsbootlaces wrote: My mate managed this. Think he got them through the Barmy Army, he went out to Australia last time around with them.sendô wrote: How the **** did he manage that? Paying over the odds? I've all but given up going in for the ballots now, although admittedly I forgot this year.
