I think they're just the same questions that have been there for the last couple of years when England play away in NZ, Aus, SA or the WI - too many right arm fast mediums doing the same things. We hoped Archer would give us something else but he's been chucking down straight 83mph balls. We hoped Curran would give us something different being a leftie but he's not really looked the part. We hoped Leach would be able to become our front line spinner, but it seems outside of the sub-continent or Somerset he's no better than Mo was.
Maybe instead of arguing that the **** ball should be retired we should (sadly -since the Duke is far superior) use it in County cricket and make roads for wickets in order to 'train' our bowlers. I think it is the wrong way to go for cricket in general but the ICC follow the $$$ and don't really care for the good of the game (especially Test cricket) .

The talent pool of bowlers seems fairly poor right now.
Australia came over for the Ashes and were able to not play Starc and Hazelwood at times as they had bowlers to suit conditions.
We’ll probably have Anderson and Broad running in with the new ball over in Australia in a couple of years.
