Sad but true.

All I'd add is that Sam's signed him twice over the years so he obviously admires the player. And I'm not convinced he'd easily let go of a player that he values for the options he brings to the squad. In effect in Vaz we have a left sided forward, a right sided forward and possibly a stand-in centre forward. Sam likes a utility player. I hope he stays.

Be a mistake to let Vax Te leave! as others have said who will pay for anything for Taylor and a few other players, sad position.

Re Taylor - he was excellent for us in the Championship, his delivery was of high quality, consistently all season. He also started the season in the PL with some half decent performances, before absolutely dive bombing.

We're a year on now from the end of that form - he would still be a brilliant signing for any Championship side - whether they would pay the wages he wants, is another thing.

Players we wanted to shift should have been left out of the squads, even last night and pre season to send a message they won't be playing much - then they might consider taking lower wages elsewhere if they want to play some football

Really? That's a very archaic way of dealing with it, how do we know we've even had a bid for them?

Both have been good servants for the club

This get said a lot. We were a Championship side when we signed him on these wages. There are several sides in that league that would meet his current salary. He might also be willing to take a cut for regular football and/or living in a preferred area.

Not really talking about them in particular but If we really are looking to shift players to get a striker in then we surely are looking at Taylor and Diarra and why would they leave for less money elsewhere if they are getting decent game time here?
Though I guess word from Sam to say they won't get any game time after the window shuts would do the same job, I dunno

I'd be more surprised if he ended up there than if he ended up here. Roma also want him.

Can't see any attraction in Newcastle at the moment. Club in disarray.

Wouldn't be the greatest surprise to see Morecambe turn them over tonight.

All the window talk about sane could reid or tommo be away ?. Or diame could be used as a loss to replace. Looking at the squad it should be a midfielder away but which one. Noble to sunderland interesting few days.

All I know is we need a goal scorer sharp we have dropped points sat we should be aiming for finishing 6th this year. We have improved the squad this year so need to improve on the league position. It is the easiest way to clear the debt

thank f*** for that..sorry I'm not one for condemning signings before they've kicked a ball but this had smacks of desperation written all over it.
