The problem with Defoe, is one even persuading him to come back here, and then expect him to play 2nd fiddle to Carroll.

Personally Id love him back

Going after that Rojas kid last week was a joke, what the hell was that about, he plays in a league that is probably no higher a standard than League Two, the previous top scorer in that league can't hit a barn door in the MLS so that tells you pretty much all you need to know.
We have a load debt including a big payment to Sheffield United, to spend £20m is not unreasonable without selling anyone, as I keep saying for the money committed on Carroll and Downing, 4-5 players of decent players could have been signed even more if loans utilised, Sam made that choice so a bit harsh to blame the Daves how he spent the clubs resources.

I'm looking forward to getting today over with and on with the real action on the pitch.

Press, Radio, Tv and twitter all playing Chinese whispers for 3 months regurgitating the same stories.
Basically if you spin enough lies, eventually one will come true. Then you can claim to be in the know.

Roll on midnight

No it'll be Cole, but only if Vaz and Taylor go.

It's embarassing the amount of attention seeking morons on twitter... first time I have ever just searched for tweets using WHUFC and I wished I hadn't

Only people who know whats going on today are our Chairmen! Hopefully they will get something done but I doubt it very much anyone will come in!

We are a good striker short, that was obvious for a long time

Pray for a miracle

It makes me laugh when some of the "senior" members slag off the "kids" presence on this site during the school holidays because the majority of you lot act like the most immature, spoilt, little brats the second deadline day comes around.

We signed a current England international this summer, beating our own transfer record for the second year running and some of you are still pissed off?

Are you lot actually having a ****ing laugh? Do you remember the past 5 seasons at all?

I ain't a senior member by far, but I've seen us go down twice, come back up twice, been to 3 playoff finals and an FA cup final in my 13 years as a season ticket holder. I can categorically say we have had much, much worse squads going into a season than this one. That's not an excuse I know.

But some people are calling on someone who they've never met before; to pull their cheque book out and spend their own, hard earned cash to sign some player just to make their Monday more exciting. If it's that ****ing dull why don't you start up your own lingerie company, fund it through advertising sex chat phone numbers in the back of lads mags, save up enough money, buy the club and make the decisions yourself...oh wait, you're too busy shoving that pastie in your mouth before you lay down the foundations in some shitty council development project or before you type a strongly worded email to ofcom because Babestation wouldn't refund the charge of your text asking for the bird to shove a cucumber up her arse when she didn't whilst you was eating that greasy kebab last night.

We are not owned by Dubai.

You lot need to chill...probably less than I do at the moment (ha) but do any of you seriously think that the guys in charge aren't trying their best? Do any of you really think if us lot are worried about our striking options, that the guys who have millions and millions of their own money at stake aren't suitably worried? Of course they are. If they can strengthen us then they will.

I've been to both home games this season and even if we don't sign a striker I'm pretty sure we'll be fine.

It seems like the worse thing you can do in modern football is lose the game that comes before the transfer deadline.

Chill Winstans. If we sign some more players then happy days, if not, that big geordie bloke or Rav the Chav will save the day.

Have faith. :crest:

So apparently the Vaz Te deal won't be completed until we get a replacement, and the replacements won't be signed until we've shipped out Vaz Te.

We're going to make a proper mess of this aren't we.

Romford, I think the Chairmen are probably doing their best,
but best for whom? their investment and pension I bet.

I am still convinced they are only in it for the big OS payday.

Staying up by any means is their mission statement, even if we look like
a poor mans Wimbledon circa 1999 doing so.
