He tried to sign Heitinga who is short, cup tied and hasn't played in the league all year.
Well to be honest, Heitinga can play at full-back and in midfield as well. He also has 80 odd Dutch caps and has played in a World Cup final so probably wouldn't have been a bad little signing. Sadly, he didn't want to come. So Allardyce had to go back to the drawing board and find another player who could come in and do a job for us.
Heitinga would have been an excellent signing for the club. Roger Johnson is a stop-gap signing to get us out of a bind because our 3 best centre-backs are all injured.
What exactly are you angry about? That Johnson isn't good enough? That he doesn't have
enough Premier League experience? Or just that Allardyce didn't mention that he felt that Roger Johnson was a decent football in his presser....because surely the fact that he
has Premier League experience and the fact that Allardyce
has brought him in, implies that he has ability.
