I swear we signed a Portuguese midfielder on a free transfer right at the beginning of the window?
What happened to him?

Song and Kayoute can both fill in at center back so i imagine that will be the plan. Also a couple of others can fill in too.
Lets just hope they stay injury free and we dont have to mess positions about.

GK Adrian / Jaaskelainen
RB Jenkinson / Demel
CB Collins
CB Reid / Tomkins
LB Cresswell / O'Brien
CM Noble / Morrison
CM Kouyate / Song
ACM Nolan / Zarate
RW Valencia / Vaz Te
LW Downing / Jarvis
ST Carroll / Sakho
Two senior players for every position (excl CB1) with Carlton Cole, Diego Poyet, Morgan Amalfitano and Dan Potts in addition.
The most balanced squad I can ever recall.

Although he was presented as a RB who could play CB when he signed, I'm not sure about this as he didn't use him there when we were really struggling before Christmas last year.

Was he injured himself? Or maybe O'Brien was used in central defence? I think there wasn't enough players for the entire back four at the time.Sir_Trevor wrote: Although he was presented as a RB who could play CB when he signed, I'm not sure about this as he didn't use him there when we were really struggling before Christmas last year.
EDIT: Yeah, Matt Taylor was playing at right back. Demel got injured in the 2-0 win at Cardiff just after the FA Cup 3rd Round.

Agree with your first point. A reshuffle would have to involve Cresswell playing somewhere other than LB though, which I can't see.bobd_uk wrote:O'Brien will play CB before Demel or Burke does. And he'll reshuffle to accomodate Potts before Burke comes in too.
Looks like it's time for my bi-monthly "Dan Potts is a centre back" reminder. He has still played more than 90% of his games for the club [at all levels] in central defence. It would appear that he is being developed into a LB, admittedly, but I'd rather see Potts in the middle than Cresswell.

Absolutely. Sam's been given the necessary tools for us to have a solid season. No more excuses, we have to improve.LeonRivers wrote:

A quick google search and I found him: Fernando Jose Riberiro Alexandre, allegedly signed a pre-contractin January as he was out of contract in the summer. What happened to him?

So, they can spare the time to send over the data sheet but can't send over the formal paperwork, it stinksFishdo wrote:Apparently the BBC say there could still be more transfers generally...
Clubs sometimes conclude deals at the last minute and it is not always easy for them to get everything completed and sent over by 11pm. The so called 'deal sheet' allows a club to confirm that a deal has been reached in order to allow for additional time to submit the remaining documentation.
The sheet cannot be used prior to 21:00 BST and needs to arrive fully completed before the transfer window closes. Once the sheet arrives, clubs have got until 1am in which to submit the full paperwork.

This has been our best window for as long as I can remember, well done all involved. If we can now tie Winston down to a long term deal now, I think I might just do a sex wee

Not entirely happy with our business .
Kouyate , Song, Cresswell, Poyet, Jenkinson look ok .
Not at all convinced by Valencia or Zarate
Sakho - might be ok , looks better than Valencia to me .
Could really have used a 4th CB .
