To be fair - there is a difference between a player that has had one injury that has kept them out some time over one season and players who have had a multitude of issues over a number of years.

When was the last time we signed a player with a poor injury record and they improved?

Avoid Walcott and Oxlade-C in my view

No need for a centre back for me,
we need a HOLDING midfielder (Vieira type ) a big strong lad who just sits in front of the defence (and stays there no more no less), breaks up play and then feeds the ball to Noble, Payet or other Lanzini's
We need both. Collins isn't getting any younger and Reid is in for a few games, out again on a constant basis. Dragovic would be ideal.

Also a proper RB and probably 2 strikers to replace Valencia and Emenike, and that's without the concerns over Sakho.

Looks like OM are up for sale. Could get Batshuayi and Mendy cheap.? Or could be the start of a bidding war.?

Depends how quickly they sell. I thought there were financial issues at OM, hence why Batshuayi et al might be available this summer. If they sell and the new owner is minted, that need to sell goes away doesn't it?

I just don't think you understand.

we have that already......on the bench.
Obiang

I'm not going to say he's as good as Vièra (who is/was?!), but he's our missing link in a lot of games IMHO. The number of times Martial could pick up the ball in the space in front of our CB's was insane.
The exact space where Obiang would be most of the game. He's a real gem. I just cannot understand myself why he was not played in at least one of our two previous games. (or both!)

Carrick in on a free who is exactly the same tup of play like Obiang, but with a better passing ability.

Is anyone fussed about Emmenike?

For me, he'd struggle to get a start in the West Brom team & I don't think he adds much for us.

Billic seems to like him which worries me a bit, nothing against Emenike just think we can do better, he is a very unorthodox odd player to me, not the worst fourth choice striker we've ever had by any means

Targets this summer for me:

RB - Jung/Zabeleta
DM - Kante or actually play Obiang?
Winger - Tore
Striker - Lacazette/Batshuayi

Outs:

Moses/Emineke/Jenks/O'brien/Valencia

All realistic targets for me and would fill all the gaps we have. Kante could be difficult as could see a few clubs chasing him but despite Liecesters excellent/lucky season we are definitely a better long term option. I'd also keep Song if wages are sensible as he is a great player in my eyes. Potential lineup next season:

------------------------------------------Adrian

Jung--------------------Reid----------------------Ogbonna---------Cresswell

--------------------------------------Kante

---------------------------Kouyate---------Lanzini

Tore-------------------------------------------------------------Payet

-----------------------------Lacazette/Batshuayi

Bench: Randolph/Tomkins/Byram/Antonio/Sakho/Carroll/Noble/Obiang/Song depending on circumstances.

That is some first team/bench to rotate and change as we see fit which could challenge top 4 imo.

That's an understatement - they're going to be playing in the Champions League next season.

And he could probably pick his club worldwide outside any of the big 3 this summer (and maybe even including them). Ain't going to happen.

Right back and centre forward are the 2 first team spots that drastically need improving. I highly doubt they will be looking to spend on a centre back when they have just signed Collins and Reid to new lucrative contracts and spent a large piece of pie on Oggy this past summer.

How are we a better long term option than Leicester? they are going to win the league this season and play in the Champions League next season, they also have solid financial backing and can offer players wages on par with us. It is highly unlikely that we will win the league in the near future most likely not ever.

That is completely mental statement.

He should've started yesterday. He ain't gonna score a goal, but he will create opportunities for other, just like Sakho does.
