On what planet? :shock:goof wrote:Carroll & Bony are very simular..
They both have legs, that's about it. Bony will do great for us, just as Benteke would have. Proper goal scorers with power and pace that have simply become victims of the big club hoard-a-player strategy. More than good enough for West Ham....especially at this moment in time.

Re: The 2016 summer transfer thread
Bony will be the best striker we have had since Ashton if he signs. People forget how talented he is because he is not good enough to play Aguero out of the City team and his wages are so high they want him gone as they have a great youth talent as back up.
If the news is true and we are signing him perm for 20m considering Watford wanted 30 plus for Deeney that is an incredible coup in this window. I still doubt we will spend that kind of cash though, so seems a loan until he moves to China but either way it would be great business.

Re: The 2016 summer transfer thread
Bony is the kind of player we get linked with loads put there noses up at it saying he is crap & lazy etc then he signs for someone else who are as good as us & then people say "dodged a bullet there" then he does really well scores goals for said team & then when we play said club everyone will fear Bony & people will say "Bony nailed on to score"
So let's break the cycle!! Let's just sign a proven premier league striker we know rather then being lured by the Unknown player.

It'll be like Big Benni all over again.Scratchy wrote:Be happy with either. I wonder if Bony has kept himself in good shape having sat on the bench for so long. Easy for a player to lose that edge.

Re: The 2016 summer transfer thread
I'd happily spend £20m on Bony now if we know he's got interest from China and we could flog him for £30m to them next summer.
That said (and for all the issues around it right now) I'd rather see us splash on a right back and a creative central midfielder to work in tandem with Byram and Lanzini. I think all three of these roles need filling in some way, but would equally be happy to sit and wait out the striker issue and improve these two points for the moment. Shame we didn't go for (or went for but didn't get) Pereyra. Anybody know if there's a rumoured asking price for Youri Tielemans? Not that I'd expect us to be able to sign him - possibly the hardest type of player to find and buy, that creative CM.
Would still move for Iorfa, too.

Saying that about Bony - would rather Zaza in the circumstances. Especially if Juve want him to go and he wants to come.

To be honest we could do with both of them.(imo)Fishdo wrote:The Zaza reports are saying a loan too with option to buy...
Though reports on both Zaza and Bony are saying there is a clause that will trigger have to buy if the player makes a certain number of appearances...
You can see a good few links to these stories on newsnow
Bony to replace Sakho and Zaza to replace Enner.

Re: The 2016 summer transfer thread
Bony is only 27 and there is talk that he's off to China in January? No thanks.
I'd prefer Zaza. Surprised to read he's only 25. The bald head makes him look older.
Pity Calleri doesn't come with a purchase option. I think he'll make it.

It's clear that we still haven't found what we're looking for.Iron-on-transfer wrote:Hell, I'd even take Bono over Valencia right now.
