Is that wrong?
That's fine, it's just a nickname for his already nickname!

Chicha doesn't mean anything, just a shortened version of little pea

Yeah this club.....

Great isn't it, four quality signings that improve our first XI and money left over with three weeks to go until the start of the season. Happy days

Woohoo! longest weekend ever, well worth the wait.
Zaba, Hart, Arnie & now Chicarito, any one else is a bonus for me :scarfer:
Although a big DM would be kinda important.

Can't wait for the new season!!!!

Right then. Four fantastic signings who instantly improve our first eleven. Question now is, who's next?

Leverkusen also referred to him as Chicha, I imagine it's what he prefers.

Easier than calling him Chicharito every time.

We need a midfielder like Alex song , gutted it didn't work out for him as on his day he was the best centre Mid i think I've seen here.

Wilshere would do

I wonder if Payet would still be here if these signings happened last summer or if he was always destined to be a spineless shitbag!

Not that it matters anymore but can't help but think how good our squad would be now if he was still a part of it.

What a difference a couple of weeks make. We were all doom and gloom and suddenly three great signings!

Trying to be positive we've sorted out out RB issue, bought a proven goal scorer, added a creative player and brought in a new number 1 with a point to prove (I love Adrian however there was obviously something wrong to continue with Randolph and that sadly cost us points).

I still think we are missing a decent DM however it's looking promising for the season.

I have lived in Mexico many years...

Chícharo is a Pea.

Chícharo was Chicharitos Dad.

Putting 'ito' on the end of a name is a sign that it's smaller or for affection.

For example could call my baby son Babysito.

It's a very Mexican thing and not really found in Spain etc.

Thanks Aztec....

Really is an exciting thought with next season to come.. Well Chuffed...

I genuinely think even off the pitch this guy is going to have a big big influence on the squad ...

What with him at the front and Hart at the back a few players won't dare not give their all... and I'm sure Arnie will be up for it and will prove to be more consistent what with Chicha and Lanzini...

What a great window, a slow burner but getting Hart, Arnie and Hernandez all done in a week is really good work by the board and they should get a truck load of credit. As someone else said earlier, in general they've delivered in previous windows apart from last years paltry effort.

I'm not sure we could really ask for anymore at this time.....but Wilshere and Gray would be nice!

still not enough spent, shouldn't be praising the board yet, i expect another 20m-25m spent and hopefully on a DM

So far so good. Makes that Football365 "article" look even more laughable as well.

Still Wilshere to come as well, if what I was told was 100% accurate. No reason for me to think otherwise.

Surely we will use up all the three available loan slots as well? Haven't we done so every other season?

I don't get why it matters mate what we spend as long as we get the right players in and improve the team /squad

Funny how a signing can get you buzzing again.
Great stuff.

UtJ - Don't know why you feel the need to dig me out .Pezza has already claimed that we have paid him a signing on fee to compensate his drop in earnings. There is so much dreamy b*llocks claimed that you are happy to let go and I have never claimed we did not get £5m for said player, but that it would be much less once everyone is recompensed. But go ahead and have everyone believe that we have a whole £5m to invest in the team!I'm no fan of the owners, but even I know that scenario is a tad naive,IMO.

Zabaleta would've had a decent signing on fee. A freebie is more or less never a freebie. So current net spend more like 20m I'd say (Feghouli not going anywhere as of today - actually if he does, there's another couple of million spent out, to him).

There's agent fees and other fees to consider as well, but that's probably just guesswork, so not worth considering.

Doesn't really matter how much is spent, it's how well it's spent. And fair play they seem to have spent it well.
