I am surprised how many like Cullen enough to suggest he would get minutes this season. He looked like a headless chicken in preseason to me, lots of running around, a few short passes completed, several moments of hesitancy and giving the ball away. Not sure what anyone sees in him, if he's got a Scottie Parker in there somewhere surely we wont see it for at least another year so a loan to Bolton is ideal.

Any news on an new improved contract for young Cullen?
Bolton could easily make him an attractive offer come Christmas if he impresses.

Collins/Fonte would probably be looking to retire next season which would be a great way to integrate Rice/Oxford/Burke into the squad as backup for Reid and Ogbonna. (Collins will be 35 next year august and Fonte 35 next year in December)

Sorry to admit I agree with you, nothing I've seen so far makes me think he will have any kind of career with us. Would love to be proven wrong, just can't see it. He's the same age as Fernandes but nowhere near as good.

Let's not allow this striker search to drag on any longer.

Bring back Carlton Cole. Simple.

Could be a good mentor for Chicharito too...

Rice, Quina, Martinez have the biggest chance of first team action this season imo

Cullen, Burke, Oxford to be squad players next season should they succeed in their on loan tests this year.

Holland not ready yet imo.

What happened to Marcus Browne and Samuelson? They were featuring frequently preseason this time last year.

This is interesting aside from the unhelpful comparison to Payet - he's no Payet, whatever the stats say.

Feghouli leaving for Galatasaray.

No-one wants to pay Snodgrass' wages.

We are linked with Ryad Boudebouz.

Pezza advised that we are unlikely to move for anyone now until end of window. Slav very impressed with squad and youngsters.
Cheers fella!

Is Feghouli a definite then?

Would much rather Snodgrass left but guess Feghouli is on high wages.

Great news that the youngsters are impressing, always more willing to give them more patience than anyone coming in to top up their pension.

No problem!

It does look that way, I think he was on for a better season but we are cashing in.

r.
Quina above the likes of Burke etc? Any reasons why you think this?
Way too small and fragile at the moment I would say.

I like the look of these loan deals, providing they play. No repeat of many of last years loanees not playing, Oxford is making a tw@t of Stam so far this pre season.

It's so weird when people claim players are "too small", "fragile" or "lightweight". Like they're expecting them to go away for a year and live in the gym eating nothing but protein? That's their build and will stay their build. They're gonna have a growth spurt and if they put on weight, they'll look "out of shape".

There have been plenty of class players of a small build. Look at Lanzini, the same comments were made about him and he's not changed?

The likes of Quina are who they are and will either make it in the league based on their current attributes, or they won't.

Rice, Holland and Martinez would be my guesses.[/quote]

If they've sent Cullen and Burke on loan they will defo send Holland and Martinez.Rice is only one that might stay imo.Lot of talk about Kane in last few pages and loan spells. But his real emergence coincided with pochettino arrival ,coincidence? Maybe the loans gave him a bit of toughness but pochettino coaching was the really important factor. For me I still believe keep your brightest talents close and train with 1st xi daily.Surely Holland would learn more from lanzini on a daily bases than getting kicked of the park in league 1
