It doesn't much matter who "backs" the owners or not, unless there is a realistic alternative - not exactly that many people who can stump up the cash for a Premier League football team, and among the ones that could and would potentially be interested, how many would protect the interests of the club (some Russian or Middle Eastern billionaire?)...sometimes it's a case of better the devil you know if you ask me (not that any one is!)
