Thanks for the info, Jinxed. However, enquiring or making approaches for players only means anything if Sullivan is willing to make a realistic bid that has a chance of being accepted. Are you saying that these stories about the usual insulting low bids are BS?

Polite reminder to posters

ITK baiting is not tolerated on here.

Jinxed is a recognised ITK, and his/her info is passed on in good faith.

It should be taken that way as well.

Thank you.

Half of the targets mentioned we haven't enquired about

Pastore
Seri
Hateboer
Shaw
Pope
Santos
Anderson

Have all been targeted or enquired about and some are still very much in the fold
Cheers Jinxed.

Disappointed to not see Rafinha on that list

Love your updates, still don’t trust the board at all i’m afraid though mate

Jinxed do you think pelligrini is confident that Sullivan will get the players he has targeted

To my knowledge yes

And I said I'd be the first to say if it were true

Not your most eloquent piece George but I agree that some deals can be done now rather than wait until after the WC especially for those not going (that will be most of ours). Where there’s a will there’s a way, I just think our penny pinching, unprofessional cat & mouse negotiating is so demeaning and embarrassing. All this tabling of derisory offers is bllx. Sit around a table & thrash out a deal like any professional business and get some respect and dignity rather than being laughed at as some odious East End barrow boy.

I’m going to go against the grain here and say I don’t see it with Pope and I haven’t all of last season either.

Of course, he got his chance and took it when Heaton got injured but I still don’t think he’s a PL keeper in the long term.

Instead I think much like Keane last year, Tarkowski this year and to a lesser extent Lowton, Ward and Mee he’s the beneficiary of an incredibly well drilled back line which defend deep and everyone knows their role and are protected by a diligent and hard working midfield.

As we saw with Allardyce, you can drill a defence to be difficult to break down, the skill is to combine that with a more forward thinking midfield and attack. The likes of Reid and Cresswell have looked half the defenders they did since Allardyce did, I don’t think they’ve changed to much as players (injury aside) but the shape, discipline and structure surrounding them sure has and they look worse for it.

If we were going shopping for a goalie at Burnley I’d still rather it be Heaton.

I’m still amazed to see Lukas Hradecky hasn’t moved anywhere yet after his form last year and the fact he’s on a free.

I’d also enquirer about Schezney after Juve signed Perrin. Although I expect he’s still in the driving seat still to be Buffon’s successor.

So those are the 2 names from the French League you was alluring to I presume? Santos I guess didn't count as he was technically on loan from Barcelona.

Thanks for sharing Jinxed.

I’d be very happy with any of those from Jinxed’s list, even Shaw if it was a cheap deal.

Hans Hateboer is an interesting target, very similar to Fredericks but nowhere near as quick, can play on the right wing or right back and had a very good season at Atalanta.

I'd also presume if we are considering selling Arnautovic that a new set of targets would need to be factored in cos none on that list are anywhere near a similar player.
