Mawson makes too many basic errors to be sought after as a headline signing. Lascelles has impressed me far more than Mawson.

Loftus Cheek needs to get out of Rent Boy FC and if funds were available, I'd be dead chuffed if we signed him. He's been undervalued and I think he offers more than other more feted England midfielders.

How many people have seen Mawson play more than 4 times?

Interestingly Barkley played really well in Chelsea’s pre-season game the other day according to their fans,, first under the new manager I believe. Maybe RLC might be more available than previously thought if Barkley carries on impressing.

Sticking with West London teams, Andre Schurrle is flying in for a medical with Fulham tomorrow. Fair play to them! Still only 27 too.

Kouyate = Headless chicken, pop up with occasional goal
Obiang = 1 game brilliant, 2 games average, pop up with 1 wonder goal

If Pellegrini thinks he can upgrade to players who suit his formation, they won't be greatly missed (football wise)

No, he's Kouyate in disguise.

We don’t need someone in midfield with end product.

Don't see too much difference. Vague positional indiscipline, occasional great run with the ball at feet, not great final ball.

Kouyate is someone who is lost without a map when past the half way line.

Loftus Cheek is far better technical than Kouyate but isn’t the player we need.

Kouyate’s attributes are just wha we need, it just needs a manager to get the best out of him.

I find the witch hunt on here towards him astounding to be honest.

He can’t pass. That is not what we need.

I'm not witch hunting Kouyate. Have enjoyed him playing for us many times. Just needs a proper position and a coach who will keep him disciplined in it.

I haven't seen it to be honest..I have seen him a few times admittedly only on the streams but I don't see the love in.

He added nothing to the England team when he came on in either game and I am not sure that he's what we really need. Seems like a wide player, which we now have in abundance and if MP sees Antonio as a good fit then overloaded.

He isn't the back up forward we seem to be looking to add, would rather have got Schurlle. We desperately need a CM/DM with DM priority number one. We have addressed most of our problems, GK, RB, CB, WM's/AM so we are left with a back up forward - MP has already said so - and a DM.

Address these issues first and foremost. Add others if we let players leave.

Glad I am not the only one, hope he can rediscover his form under Pellegrini. Helps us so much when he drives forward with the ball. With more movement in front of him he will be far more effective. Seems like a great guy too

Didn’t Loftus-cheek play quite far forward for Palace most of the time?

Doesn’t feel like what we need tbh.

I agree StokeIrons, not a wide player. The thing is, what does he offer that none of our current squad do? Seems to have no fixed role, but not in a Lanzini/Hazard way.
