Thanks for everything, big man. I must admit that I am a little relieved to see him go, but I appreciate everything that he did for us.

Farewell Iron Cheik, first official scorer at the bowl?

You fear he could be coaxed (and coached) out of the players he’s been for two years and returned to the one who can dominate midfield battles. Assume he will stick to task at a new club and new people around him, whereas I think he got lackadaisical with us and I’ll-disciplined in his role.

Least I’ll never have to see him up front again like early Moyes.

Good luck to Kouyate.

He did well for us although didn't have the best last couple of years.

Got over 100 league games out of him, four years solid service and a profit to boot.

Certainly one of the best players signed under the Allardyce regime.

Not a good fit anymore, Manuel wants players in the middle that can pass the ball and he's been woefully short in that area over the last 2 years.

Interesting. Ex was saying nothing agreed earlier tonight!
Interesting how he seems to be floundering of late, can't imagine why.

I think it shows that maybe West Ham are keeping their cards closer to their chests more thus year than ever.

To be fair to Iron Mike- he confirmed Kouyaté had gone earlier tonight with a bid for Maia going in. He also said about Mario coming back on loan

Good to see these ITK's getting things wrong. Hopefully with a director of football, these embarrassing leaks from the club can stop.

Last two seasons weren't great but Cheik gave us two very excellent years when he first joined. Positive attitude as well, I'll look back on his four seasons fondly overall

Not to sad about Kouyate going. Think he’s been poor the past 2 seasons. Probably the right time for him to move on.

Cheers for the years

Wonder if he'll still wear those Toblerone shaped boots & shin pads, at Palace?
Oh yeah & watch him play 2 blinders against us..
Good luck to the fella, though.

Strange that I feel okay with this decision. For a long time I saw him as integral to the development of the team, and his versatility was to be commended. I felt last season he just wasn’t able to make his mark the way I would have expected him to. We have also made a profit, although, I feel he is worth more than £10 Million. It is the end of an era, and I am grateful for his substantial contribution to the club over his four years.

This decision has also made it clear in my mind that I’d be okay if Cresswell was also to move on.

In the Indy’s article about Palace’s transfers:

In the hunt for an attacker, Ayew is viewed as an alternative to Michail Antonio, a south London native who has found himself surplus to requirements at West Ham this summer.

Talks have taken place between West Ham and Palace over Antonio but the Hammers’ demands are currently proving a roadblock as the Eagles mull over other options. Antonio is unlikely to sign if Ayew arrives.

Good. I'm hoping Antonio stays and intrigued as to what he does under Pellegrini.

Kouyate had some memorable moments but unfortunately he seemed to lose his way after the move to the toilet bowl.

Positional sense and passing disappeared.

Wish him well (except for two league games)
