More a Sullivan signing than a Pellegrini one as well, or so I'd imagine.

Neither of them are good enough for us. Shelvey is weirdly overrated in this country

Shanghai supposedly want Payet now. The irony.
It will be Payet’s way of redeeming himself; taking a 300k a week bullet so Arnie stays with us.
The owners probably read all these stories about Arnie doing a Payet and thought “who’s he? We’ll have him instead if we can’t have the other one”

it was Zaba and then Rice but the young man has come on in such leaps and bounds...........

I hope Zaba stays for another year too - his influence in and around the team and in the dressing room can't be underestimated either I would imagine.

Zaba is worth ten of Arnautovic. Pure class as a man. We benefit far more with him for one more season than by keeping Arnautovic. Infinitely better as a role model.

If Zabaleta goes in the summer , Antonio Valencia must be odds on to rock up in his place.

Have to admit I haven't seen much of either player (Piatek & Gomez), but am I right in thinking Piatek is more in the vein of Hernandez than Arnautovic?

You are probably right but I really hope you are wrong

Decent spread of type of goal from Piatek in that video - thanks for sharing Bubbs

Not struck on the celebration though......lol

I would say that Piatek works harder than Chicha and puts himself about a bit more. I know that strikers from the Serie A rarely make it in the Premier League, but I think Piatek would be a success in this league. Just a hunch.

Thanks, Bubbles.
Looks as though he's pretty good with his head too, but that video doesn't show much more than him shooting. I wondered what his general play was like - how he contributes to defence and build-up.

EDIT
Thanks, I Am Lawro, too.

Would love Piatek, class player. Similar to Hernandez where he is likely to finish anything inside the box, only needs half a chance. Doubt we’ll get him

Jonathan Walters [ Stoke ] saying Marko would be a great fit for Tottenham - Ironmike of Rumours saying Tottenham actually made an enquiry for him - Hmmm , Mr Levy , seeing as it's you , that'll be £100m + Son .

I honestly think if Marko is sold the only player we'll see coming to West Ham will be an overpriced Dzeko .

If we sell Arnautovic and only bring in a cheap/loan replacement will they stop the £100m* spend crap?

*the £100m that wasn’t really £100m anyway, let alone that the club saved it up over three years of underspend

As an aside....one of the clickbait sites suggesting that Chelsea are after someone to take Emerson off them on loan with option to buy in the summer. Could see him doing well at left back behind Anderson. Not that we’ve been linked though.

Not even Sullivan is stupid enough to sell one of our star players to Tottenham.

not keen on celebration number 3 - pointing to his name on the shirt...

:x

think the "gun" celebration thingy might be "Pistelero" - sharp shooter or something similar in translation

Well said TOMOS. But you forgot to add. Agree a deal with Levy and pull the plug with seconds of the window remaining.

The quote from Pellegrini that is now up on the BBC makes it seem highly likely that we are just waiting on a replacement that he is happy with before selling Arnie.

My gut says Gomez.

tells me to prepare for him not being in the line up on Saturday...........

that's fine by me, I want players who will dig down for 3 points...not one maybe throwing a strop or sulking..

plus he might get injured a la AC last year just when we were on the verge of selling him to Chelsea...

Maxi Gomez and Piatek in, Hernandez and Arnie out.

I'd take that in a heartbeat.
