If there is a genuine offer out there (as opposed to click-bait journalism) and Arnie fancies it
then get rid, else face the possibility of further tantrums and disruptions.

So you're going to over-price a player that wouldn't want to be here. He's only worth £50 million if somebody pays it. Nobody will. Be lucky to get £30 million for him.funky chicken wrote:A club the size of Inter Milan. If I was a supporter and the best they could do is target Arnie as their striker, I would say the club was being unambitious and wouldn't at all be happy. And I think Arnie is a good player. For me when he is in form, minus Raul Jimenez I would say he is the best striker outside the top 6 clubs.
IF any of this is true and Inter Milan do submit a serious bid, all Pellegrini needs to do is sit down with him and his agent and simply ask him: ''Do you want to stay at West Ham?''.
If he says: ''Yes''. Great.
If he even hesitates, let alone says: ''No'' then sell him as soon as they offer £50m. As for me that's how much he is worth.
Then go out and sign 2 striker. Rondon would be one of them for me.
Just wish he would hurry up and bugger off. I'll never forgive all the 'I'm back' bull-**** last season. You shouldn't have even gone anywhere you prick.

The Serie A bods might be able to answer me this – Icardi has almost never been *seriously* linked to any of the big clubs outside of Italy. Is that because himself and his managerial set up is so toxic, or are they seeing something in his play that makes them all give him a wide berth? (If this was a thread I'd mark it 'non-WHU', just to be clear. Just curious).

This, in a nutshell.S-H wrote:Arnautovic kicked up a stink whilst at Stoke, to force a move here, he has form for it. He isn't going to change.
He’s still a luxury player but what with all the China stuff, the flinging of the arms like it’s everybody else’s fault, and the cheek of appearing in the ‘I’m back’ video (which is half the clubs fault too admittedly), I hope he goes this summer. Selling him and bringing in someone like Mitrovic, Gomez etc would show good business. Arnie is unfortunately just a ticking time bomb and we’ll always be waiting for his next strop, which will inevitably come at some point.
If we get £30m then we should take it. I’m still of the thinking that Hernandez would’ve scored more than Arnie if his minutes weren’t limited by sub appearances.

Re: The summer transfer window 2019 thread
1. It’s a team sport. One player is never bigger then the team even if it may be an important player. Like for like replacement is difficult, but there’s a hundred ways to skin a cat and no one is really irreplaceable.
2. A fit and firing Arnie is hugely important t to us. He has a rare combination of exceptional technical skills married with power and decent pace. Yet he is capable of being self-destructive and extremely disruptive to his own club. We have no idea which Arnie we will get next season. The gaffer, however, works with him everyday and knows better. I am sure he will weigh up the situation and make the best possible decision he can.
Frankly, I would prefer to keep Arnie - mainly because he is tested in the premiership and I have a soft spot for a mad nutter. But if the gaffer thinks he has better options, then I trust him to make his best considered decision. It’s not going to be risk-free either way. My gut says Pellers will leave it up to Arnie. There is no point keeping him against his will. And if he does decide to stay, it is the best indication that we will be getting the Arnie we prefer.

He's been linked with all the big clubs, Madrid especially, he won't get linked with Barca as Messi hates him, most of the big teams have strikers already too and with the emergence of Jovic this last season, for big bucks with his attitude he is a gamble, add in off the field getting tattoos of children'sname that aren't even hisAceface wrote:The Serie A bods might be able to answer me this – Icardi has almost never been *seriously* linked to any of the big clubs outside of Italy. The problem is Icardi is a bit of a tit, his wife is a massive disruption, going on tv shows/instagram etc saying he wants a move, higher wages, better team mates and so forth and he is a bit of a throwback penalty box goal poacher, well he is a bit better than that but he is an out and out striker
Thirdly we have no chance of signing him
Arnie won't go Inter, they already have Martinez who looks a brilliant prospect, also conte is in charge and he won't take no nonsense
Inter if they sign anyone will probably sign Dzeko, Conte likes a big strong strapping lad upfront

He's a ****. And his wife (also his agent) is also a ****. And everyone at the elite level of the game knows it as well.Aceface wrote:The Serie A bods might be able to answer me this – Icardi has almost never been *seriously* linked to any of the big clubs outside of Italy. He's stated he doesn't really like football and just plays it to earn money.
He's a banging player though and I'd love to have him.

Re: The summer transfer window 2019 thread
Yes absolutely. Every club does it. Why should we constantly sell our players on the cheap? Look at his games to goal ratio and all of his strengths.-DL- wrote:So you're going to over-price a player that wouldn't want to be here. He's only worth £50 million if somebody pays it. Nobody will. If any club around, or above us had a striker with similar attributes how much do you think they'd sell him for?
If Inter want him so much then they will pay what we are asking. And for me that is a good price for a big club who has plenty of money to spend, as if he was a lot younger he'd probably be worth more. IMO he has a better all-round game than Lukaku and Man Utd paid around £75m to sign him. Didn't Richarlinson cost a bit less than £50m too when he joined Everton?
Remember if we lose Arnie we will need to try and replace him with a striker equally as good as what he is. Strikers cost money and we may potentially have to sign more than 1 as it is. So for a change let's not be weak. Demand Inter pay £50 and we can then use the money to bring 1-2 decent strikers in. £30m would be too much of a stretch, unless we get lucky and Husillos can unearth a cheap hidden gem from somewhere,
Why should we punish ourselves? If our best player wants to leave then lets at least benefit from it

Even Maradona has said he didn't win it on his own. Individual players can be the difference, they can be the creative spark, the guy finishing chances, stopping the opposition attacks, a combination of a few things but no one wins things on their own.Absolutely Hammered! wrote:@ S-H

He gets linked with non-Italian clubs - although how much of that is his wife/agent just spouting off names is questionable.Aceface wrote:The Serie A bods might be able to answer me this – Icardi has almost never been *seriously* linked to any of the big clubs outside of Italy. The main thing is that he's a bit of a tit and his wife/agent is enormously invested in promoting his talents above all else. I doubt many other player agents have a regular spot on a weekly football talk show where they can easily knock the rest of the playing staff at the club he currently turns out for while extolling their players virtues. I imagine it's a much bigger play to link him with clubs in Italy than outside of them because if Inter lose him to (for example) Juve that has the bigger impact of strengthening a direct rival while weakening themselves.

For Westminster, Fort Worth, West Ham, is preparing a proposal at 17m euros
https://www.sdna.gr/podosfairo/superlea ... asi-sta-17" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;West Ham's love for Kosta Fortouni keeps well, with the English team preparing a new, even better bid for the international midfielder.
According to reports from the sports press, "Spharia" are preparing to come back after their latest bid for the Olympiacos leader, which was around 8 million euros, with the new one amounting to more than twice the amount, which can hardly be ignored.
In particular, the London group wants to give £ 15 million, or € 17 million for Fortune, and necessarily with such a sum, the Piraeus will sit at the negotiating table. In the port they want to renew with the player, he wants to stay, but such an offer and the prospect of playing in the Premier League can change the data.

How many Greek players have come to England and been a success?
Just curious - not saying I don't want this guy, he looks decent.

To be honest, there’s probably less than 25 that have actually played over here

127 goals and assists (combined) in 196 games for Olympiakos over the past 5 seasons. The Green Man wrote:Surprised no one else is in for Kostas Fortounis, his stats are excellent.
Apparently been linked with Juventus, Ajax and Spurs in the past. Juventus had bids rejected for him previously.
