We never play two up front. Not even at home. The only time i've seen us play two strikers is when we are losing to Brighton still in the last 15 mins, at home.
Not a dig, but I remember it quite differently. There were quite a few games last year where we played 4-4-2. I distinctly remember Pell being very brave and starting two up top against Man City in November (Arnie and Antonio IIRC). Thereafter, I think we played two up top on that nice run where we beat Newcastle, Cardiff, Palace and Fulham in December.

But all that aside, I think Pell has settled on 4-1-4-1 for next season. If we get Gomez I'll be very excited and won't even care if our back-ups are Welbeck and Hugill.

With quality and simplicity: Charles Aránguiz thanks the team with a sober message
Charles Aránguiz has always been characterized by being a warrior on the court and a person of very low profile outside of it. And this time was not the exception.

Once the participation of the Chilean National Team in Copa America has ended , the flyer used his Instagram account to express himself with his nearly 500 thousand followers.

blah blah

Bayern Munich, Napoli, Milan, Roma, Inter Milan, West Ham United and Inter de Porto Alegre have asked for their services.

Bologna, Saputo will reach 65 million with the arrival of Dominguez
BOLOGNA - The feeling is that Bologna is making a really important market, both in terms of today and tomorrow, and if we add to this that the commander will still be Sinisa Mihajlovic , yes, it is to be hoped that what is happened in the last 4 months may have a follow-up. One thing is the words and an account the facts, well, this time the government of Bologna has kept what it promised its own people. Saputo has already pulled out over 50 million euros with regards to market investments, to be precise 53.5. Without wanting to deal with it, here are the numbers of operations hitherto closed by Sabatini and Bigon: 15 million for the redemption of Riccardo Orsolini , 7.5 for that of Roberto Soriano and 7.5 for that of Nicola Sansone . Then: 7 million for the purchase of Takehiro Tomiyasu , 6 for Stefano Denswil , 6 for Andreas Skov Olsen , 2.5 for Mattia Bani and 2 for Jerdy Schouten.

Of course, it is true that Saputo has already invested so much, but it would be a pity and in our opinion also a mistake if it did not complete the work. Because Mihajlovic immediately asked for a new midfielder and it wouldn't be right if he wasn't satisfied. Who wants Sinisa for the median? One between Nicolas Dominguez from Velez Sarsfield , Pedro Obiang from West Ham and Alfred Duncan from Sassuolo

Incidentally, what's happened to Jinxed? Used to like his posts on here, seemed a decent bloke. Can understand why he walked away, if he has, as people get a little weird about ITKs.

Never understand why you'd dig someone out for info?
about 6 weeks ago , the parent of a player ( not with us ) told me his son was about to be transferred to a premiership club ,, this hasnt happened as yet . would imagine i'd get slaughtered for passing on same and it didnt happen

Jinxed used to come on to this forum and pass on info in good faith without making it all about him...He's also not posting woolly b*llocks in an attempt to still appear relevant.

Inform @victorsaians in @RgZonamixta of the intention of @WestHamEspanol to pay the Maxi Gómez clause between today and tomorrow. The initial aim was to negotiate but the Celta DEMANDS THE FULL PAYMENT in the LFP of Madrid.

Right but you're still digging him out, Bill.

Have a horrible feeling this little debate over paying the lump sum vs instalments is going to tear this whole thing down.

Whilst most transfers are done in instalments, we must be aware that release clauses in La Liga are entirely different and Valencia's agreement is only void if we go to La Liga HQ in Madrid and deposit the money.

If he has a half reasonable pre season it would not surprise me to see Hugill 3rd or 4th choice next season, we will not struggle in fitting him in a 25 man squad and he is homegrown. The alternatives might be the likes of Sturbridge or Welbeck who people do not want, we are more likely now to have wage room rather than a lot of money for fees and as Adams has shown it is £15m or more for a Championship prospect.

I get the feeling Celta Vigo would rather the deal they have struck with Valencia where they get cash and two players.

And so it is, youre right...

BUT, (playing devils advocat) ... why on earth they set a sell clause... ??? :?

On the old days, you just have to "talk to the club" to reach an arrangement and buy the player... maybe Im too old scholl, but...

A twitter 7 hours ago:
Maxi was left tied hands by Stellar Group and had to accept. @ valenciacf would not ask for less than 20 million for Mina. The delayed deal with @WestHamUtd its upon the money the english club will receive for Arnautovic and with them the will face his final offensive for the uruguayan player.

Valencia FC does not give for lost to MAXI GÓMEZ and asks for "patience" to be able to develop the operation and close his signing (@ElDesmarque_VLC)

50m Euro's is quite a high barrier for someone to meet the buy out clause so its a really good windfall for Celta Vigo in isolation but with the deal they have in place with Valencia, its a decent enough compromise from their point of view.

Benedetto or Chicharito, Fiorentina is at the crossroads
We need an expert tip that transmits security to Simeone: the Argentine has the ok from Boca but there is competition, the Mexican still has a year of contract with West Ham

FLORENCE - The reason why Pradè said that the real market will start on August 10th is because first he wants to see his players to the test, at least those 10-15 that the Fiorentina ds has publicly said he wants to keep (unlike the other 55-60 evidently rejected at the start). Especially in attack. Because the idea is to renew trust in Giovanni Simeone . Precisely for this reason it is looking around the world, also returning to old ideas that did not materialize in the past, starting with Chicharito , Javier Hernandez , 31 years old today at West Ham. The Mexican has a contract expiring in a year that does not seem to be close to renewal: he is 31 years old and has an international experience, between England, Spain and, of course, Mexico, as well as a palmares of author, with four titles won with United between the Premier and the Italian Super Cup and one with the Real , climbing to the top of the world with the Spanish club.

In Argentina they are just waiting for confirmation of the verbally recorded interest with an offer. Yes, because Dario "Pipa" Benedetto , 29 years old, an Argentine from Boca Juniors likes it. On its tracks there is also Olympique Marseille , but no proposals have arrived. As an immigrant, in the event of his arrival, Chicharito's candidacy would be excluded a priori: Fiorentina, for the moment, evaluates. It seems that there is a sort of agreement for a possible offer in the week at the gates. What is certain is that Angelici, the president of the club has accepted, as requested by the attacker, to evaluate possible offers of European clubs, but with the mutual promise to find the solution to be happy all.

My gut feel is we will land Gomez.
As much as it has felt like a saga, similar to the Bacca / Lacazette fiasco's, this also feels different. They felt pie in the sky shots from our owners, where as this feels different. Gomez is the man Pelle & Hussilos have been after and has always been their main target. It feels different with these two running things transfers wise.
They know what they are doing - and importantly, they know when to duck out of negotiations if they feel & know there isn't a chance of landing the player (i.e Gomes).

Money talks, he'll be in claret & blue by the end of the week.

Speaking of jinxed, his initial post flagging our interest in a player who turned out to be Arnautovic is quite funny given how his time here went down.

'Can they play up front?'
'not ideally'
