Why are we wasting our time on Haller? Ross McCormack is available on a free transfer!!!

In Germany the word is that Frankfurt think it's a done deal. Aware of interest from elsewhere but haven't accepted a bid from anyone else and expect Haller to join West Ham. A coup for the Hammers if this comes off #whufc

If we don't sell him for another Striker, I'd be more than happy to keep him along with Haller.

I want him to do the crossed hammers sign with a pair of massive dildos! Original and never to be repeated by another club!

You mean like the one I did of Sully

I supposed I could repurpose it for Haller but he might look rather odd as a Dwarf.

Rafa Honigstein talked about him on TS a little while ago. Was mostly very positive about him. He also said that Haller has been most effective when paired with other strikers, but isn't effective as a lone striker. Thank goodness we don't play the lone striker.

All of the selling Hernandez math in this thread is crazy.
Assuming we can sell him for 10M
AND assuming the buying club will meet his wage demands without asking us for a subsidy
AND assuming it's a club he's willing to go to....

we still don't have 16M in transfer and wages to spend, because you've left out loyalty bonuses, agent fees on both transactions etc.

We'd be lucky to come out of it with 12M in combined fee and wages to swing, and that won't get you a better striker than Hernandez, it won't even get you a striker who is a better option than Yarmo or Antonio if you're looking for a bigger stronger type.

And honestly I don't think both 1 and 2 are going to be true

Sassuolo pushing for Obiang from West Ham: deal moving towards completion

Sassuolo are making a push for West Ham midfielder Pedro Obiang, submitting an offer of €9m to the Premier League club. There is optimism that the offer will be enough to complete a deal. Obiang played in Italy from 2010 to 2015 with Sampdoria, ander after a brief absence, the midfielder could return to Italy after previous failed bids by Fiorentina and Bologna to bring him back to Serie A.

Cant really think of any players we've got rid of who got sent meaningful minutes last year.

Fernandes, Byram, Carroll, Adrian.

Perez and Obiang replaced by Fornals and Haller, Cullen and Browne brought into the squad.

Probably one or two more signing imminent.

He's not going to be isolated though. He may be the lone striker, but he won't be the lone attacker. The likes of anderson, antonio, yarmolenko, and lanzini will always be looking to get up there in support. Different to when we used to play carroll with the whole attacking half of the pitch to himself

If we sell now for £10m and replace with a £70k a week striker (£3.5m saving on wages) that's a saving of £13.5m a total and utter no brainer to sell now if we can get a suitable replacement.
There’s no way you’ll get a striker of Hernandez’ ilk for 13.5m, especially not in the current market. If you’re thinking of spending 20m on someone who will be second fiddle, it’s likely their value will drop considerably, not to mention the fact that there will be few wanting to sign now that Haller will presumably be our main man. Considering how well Haller played alongside the lad who has just moved to R Madrid, MP might even be thinking of playing them together at times.

Trippier to Atletico is a surprise.

Particularly given Simeone's emphasis on sound defending and Trippier's...lack of emphasis on it.
