He's easily good enough to be one of our three/four strikers and his technique seems to be a bit more consistent under Pellegrini. There seem to be fewer rash shots or poor pieces of judgement.

What type of player is Wanyama? and want exactly does he do on a football pitch? Is he a link up player? Is he a box to box midfielder? Is he a midfield dynamo? I think what we need is a midfielder destroyer. Could that be Wanyama?

maybe that's why he played Antonio on the left (the last friendly) and Anderson on the right.

no more shooting with his left foot !!!!!!

:D

only saw the first half today and all of Thursday was it ? and he looked well okay up top on his own so to speak.

scored a decent goal and could have had some assists if and when...

today looked okay holding the ball up, drawing some fouls and playing others in.

I wouldn't waste any more money on someone to come in and play third striker if the reality is that player plays as many as Perez. Antonio I think could get us 4-6 goals as a third choice up top and leave us money to be put towards another CM/DM

10M from Obiang - we must have about 8-10 left - go for Sanson if the people on here who have seen him play reckon it's worth it.

whatever happened to OM needing to offload players by July 1st ??????

I think Antonio will be option 3 behind Haller and the striker they sign to replace Hernandez. He'll also be a wide option, along with Diangana when he wants pace rather than Lanzini, Fornals and Yarmolenko.

I can't see us keeping Obiang, Sanchez or Cullen. I think he'll sign one to replace them who'll compete with/partner Rice , and if push comes to shove he'll trust Snodgrass, Noble, Wilshere or even Zabaleta when he wants a second holding/defensive player if injuries have kicked in , or something.

Anderson's best position at Lazio was right wing.

Surely Cullen deserves a start ahead of Sanchez, no? :?

Ex reckons we have around £10m left. But are close to selling Obiang to that Italian club, so should be doubled to around £20m. That will surely be enough for either the midfielder, or Maripan as that's how much roughly his club were holding out for.

He also said:

- Wanyama and Medel among the names on the shortlist to replace Obiang;

- we paid £45m for Haller with add-ones making the deal potentially rise to £55m. His salary is around 70k p/w. And no release clause in his contract;

- we are looking to bring in another forward;

- we placed a bid for an African forward;

- Maupay is currently out of our price range;

- Marcus Browne is allowed to leave, Cullen has pre-season to prove himself, Holland allowed to leave on loan and Diangana has a choice of a loan, or stay and fight for place.

CM's

Noble/Obiang/Wilshere/Lanzini/Snoddy/Fornals/Cullen/Coventry (the last two included obviously as "let's see" players)

too many CM's - we need to offload a couple and we'd still have 2 for each position.

considering we'll only be playing 2 of them we need to shift at least 2.

not counting Rice/Sanchez obviously

Quite like Wanyama, he’s an absolute beast.

The same

I don’t think he gets that sometimes it’s the How’s rather than the What’s. He could have sat quietly in the background and let fans think the club had done well to bring in two young, expensive, highly rated players. Instead he has to try to be loved and it actually snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.

You would think so. Really can’t see what Pellegrini see’s in Sanchez.

I like the fact that Wanyama's middle name is Mugabi. We already have the General, now we can have The President.

We need a physical presence in the middle for some games and I think Wanyama would be a good option.

Wanyama missed over half the season injured last year and even more the season before

Plus Spurs always charge a premium

Better options elsewhere imo.

Anyone else think Ollie McBurnie may be worth a punt if we are intent on another striker?

Very Nice Club Tottenham Hotspur fans are saying his knees are gone.

If they are wrong he would be amazing for us.

If they are right then an atrocious waste to give their Very Nice Club any cash.

Wanyama is definitely an upgrade on Sanchez and Obiang. So if we sold those two and got Wanyama I’m all for it.

Wanyama is pretty decent imho, slightly concerned by his recent injury history but he's a better defensive midfielder than Obiang is...I guess it depends mainly on whether Spurs would sell him to us

4 league starts last season, 8 starts the season before. The season before that he played plenty but got 10 yellows. Not worth the bother.
