Cardoso wouldn’t use a spot as he is U21, in fact he won’t use a squad space until 2022/23

Cardoso also has the benefit of not taking up a squad space for the next couple of seasons meaning we could still look at one further foreign player if we are going to omit Xande Silva from the squad. As it is, with him, we are at our limit.

Quite. But if Diop and Balbuena (or Reid) are in good form then why not move him in to left back.

If we are to play a top 6 of Rice, Anderson, Lanzini, Fornals, Wilshere and Haller then we have to play a more defensive back 4, currently were playing 2 centre backs and pretty much 2 wingers.
Why not let him find hes right position.

If Cardoso signs he’s regarded as u21 like Rice and Johnson so they don’t count for the squad of 25.
If we also sign Ajeti, at 22 he’s a foreign signing so would take on the last space in the squad. If we are to get one more in after that, someone will have to give unless it’s a u21 signing. I mentioned earlier that three young players are required, Cardoso, maybe Ajeti if true and then a CM.

Fabianski, Roberto, Martin
Fredericks, Zabaleta, Johnson
Masuaku, Cresswell
Balbuena, Reid
Diop, Ogbonna, Cardoso
Rice, Sanchez
Wilshere, Noble, Cullen
Fornals, Snodgrass
Lanzini, Yarmolenko
Anderson, Antonio, Diangana
Haller, Chicharito, Ajeti

8 homegrown
3 u21
17 foreign
Total 25

What's up with Ajeti and West Ham?

He is missing on the match sheet against Thun because he is battered. But maybe Albian Ajeti is on the way to the Premier League.

FCB coach Marcel Koller is on Saturday night in a 3-2 victory against Thun on rotation. Balanta and Stocker are sitting on the bench first. Defender Alderete and Taulant Xhaka are not even on the match sheet. Nor, as Center Forward Albian Ajeti (22). When asked why, Koller answers: "Albian has muscle problems in the inner thigh. He was the last days in the weight room. We hope he gets fit again as soon as possible. »

Just ask yourself if he will go for a goal-scoring for FCB. According to BLICK information, Premier League club West Ham United has kept an eye on the Nati striker and is thinking about raising just under 10 million francs for the attacker.

An offer that Basel could hardly resist. Even though FCB President Bernhard Burgener said in a statement on Wednesday that he wanted to "hold this team together". A departure Ajetis, in which the English second division West Bromwich Albion has strong interest, would definitely be a bitter loss to the FCB storm

We already aren't counting Silva - we're at 17 with him included:

Fabianski, Roberto, Diop, Balbuena, Ogbonna, Reid, Masuaku, Zabaleta, Sanchez, Fornals, Lanzini, Anderson, Yarmolenko, Snodgrass, Haller, Hernandez, Silva.

Blick and you'll miss it.. Cheers.

He sounds like a West Ham player, to be fair.

First day back today. More time to browse KUMB.

Ajeti......some great finishes on his YouTube reel. Some with his head, others with a bigfoot. I'm in.

FFS, that's the last thing we need, we've only just got rid of Carroll.

Didn't Pezza post that we were looking at a Portuguese player a few weeks back now - could that have been Cardoso ?

Players with over say 5 or 6 six years service with one club shouldnt count against your international quota imo. Eg Winston Ried.

Was going to say when I see the news Friday Adrian was looking for a club, thought he would be perfect for a big club, never injured, good pro, seems a good dressing guy and is pretty solid if called upon.

Ajeti looks surprisingly handy for someone who seems to only be interesting West Brom.

I'd be very surprised if this CB isn't the final incoming this summer though.
