I think you should look at the age thing in terms ofteh squad profile rather than on an individual players.

I think there's 3 first squad players under 25

There are 11 first team squad players over 30

3 more first teamers turn 30 next time around...

In general I think it's fair to say we need to bring down the average age of the squad whilst not compromising on the quality.

I think Carlos Sanchez will prove to be a very important squad player this season

Hope you're right... I've tried watching him closely when he plays and, though he's always fairly close to the action, he never really takes part in it much. He just follows it around.
I’m with you on that Burnley, always seems to be just out of position imo. Never does much wrong but never does much right either.

Hopefully it’s nothing more than a lack of match-sharpness.

Isn’t he retiring at the end of the season?

Nailed on Sully signing then!

Well.... he said that, but I'm sure he would be happy reporting to training for a few hours a day and picking up a cool couple of million towards his retirement fund for doing largely sod all for a year. As you say, a nailed on Sully signing and he's no risk for nothing

Frank Fielding just left Bristol City on a free, might fancy a wage bump as a last contract but I'd imagine a few clubs will offer him reasonable money as a starter

Summer Transfer Bingo:

“Exciting Times fellas”

“We should have been all over that”

“Good Evening” (jinxed)

“Part of the Carrick deal”

“Had SWP finished his medical?”

“[cheeky reference to the time we were ‘in for Neymar’]”

“Carlton’s coming home!”

+ 2

Medel is far more a better player than Sánchez.

People just forgot Medel was a FANS FAVORITE in Boca Juniors, and I tell you, NOT EVERYONE could even have the chance to play or getting in the star 11 in Boca and get well with all the PRESSURE involved being and playing week in week there.

And am not only taking about football, then to play in Boca, you have to have and show BALLS, ACTITUDE, LEADERSHIP, be strong, etc. Otherwise, they (fans) confront you on the training ground, follow you, hit you,. damage your car, etc.

Sánchez has never even played in Argentina or won the Copa América, so, you just can jugde alone with the facts and stats which player is better....

I was listening to a podcast this morning and they said his performance against Atalanta recently was ridiculous. 0-0 draw, Atalanta had 47 shots, 18 on target, 6.03 xG, and he kept them out. A perfect 10 on WhoScored, which I doubt many keepers have ever had.

I'm going to throw a name out there which I don't think I've seen mentioned or linked with anyone this summer - Teji Savanier. Having an incredible season as central midfielder for Nimes, 6 goals and 13 assists from deep while keeping up 3 tackles, 1.9 interceptions, 2.6 key passes and 2.4 dribbles.
Ditto, he looks like a proper keeper.

And good call that with Savanier. Never heard about him, but thats the idea here, to discuss and leanr about football.

Have a nice day, mate.

Thats what Im talking about...

Medel made TWO GOALS in the 2010 Superclásico in Argentina...

And I really like Sánchez.... but... IF... ONLY he would have the half of the COJONES of Medel... we could have taking about a player maybe even better than anyone (except Rice) in West Ham....

Here in the same match gegen Marcelo Gallardo (today manager of River Plate and one of the best coaches in Southamerica...

Did you honestly just use two assists made 9 years ago as a case for Medel?

PS: Sorry, dont wanted to go off topic (or sound arrogant), but...

You have to have arguments or knowledge...

Medel also played in Sevilla, another very difficult club to wear their shirt too...
