Re: The summer transfer window 2019 thread
Imagine how much must have to go wrong in your life for you to win the World Cup in summer 2016, join Barcelona for £140m in summer 2017 and then end up at West Ham by summer 2019?
Having said that, with his attitude problems and food issues, I can definitely see him jogging out at the London Stadium by Summer 2029.

only way he jogs out at the OS is if he trades in his football ball boots for running spikes !!!!Turns to Stone wrote:Imagine how much must have to go wrong in your life for you to win the World Cup in summer 2016, join Barcelona for £140m in summer 2017 and then end up at West Ham by summer 2019?

Ok give us a figure. How much do you think he will be sold for this summer?

You only need one thing to go right for it to occur: the murder charge gets voided on a police technicality.

Re: The summer transfer window 2019 thread
The Dembele/Neymar switch would make some sense.
Even wanting to get rid I cannot see Barca selling for less than about £90m. To be fair there is a different market with the top European clubs. It is reflected in this country, buy a player from Liverpool etc and you will pay a premium for him than if you were buying him from say Southampton. The simple fact he has played for one of the top 6 seems to add value even if in reality he “failed” there.
Benteke is a prime example, he was probably worth around the £25m mark maybe a little more but certainly not the £32m Palace paid a couple of years back (probably closer to £40m in today’s money).

Someone was panicking about the number of players 30+ in the squad last week. There's 3 gonebubbles1966 wrote:Carroll, Adrian and Nasri leave
No criticism of the three intended but would Silva, Trott and Holland really contribute less throughout the season?

We must have lost a bit on him. Our much heralded young international signings going back to Daniel Sjolund never work out do they !
