Wouldn't it be nice if Zola decided to put our young Spurs-reject Dixon on the bench only to bring him on for the final 10 minutes just so he can then go on and score the game winning goal ?
And all that in front of the TV cameras - absolutely brilliant!

Re: T*ttenham Vs West Ham United: Match thread
i hate this lot for so many reasons....and think we're unlikely to get anything from this...however, trying to put my objective hat on....
as others have said I think it sounds wise to put behrami on the left to support ilunga and put lennon over the advertising hoardings early doors....agree with the doubling up on him by some teams being effective but for a different reason than was stated....two players on lennon seemed to stop the supply line - however when the ball got to him he did seem to be able to make two players look as stupid as the one player that he does normally....
The other flank is a bit more of a conundrum - i don't rate Assou- Ekotto and would like someone to have a real go at him...think junior would be worth a punt stuck to the line and tell him to get behind Assou-Ekotto...but we know zola won't try that

I really can't see the problem with some of our posters about Nouble. Yes he's only 18, but would you like to upset the bugger?
He's built like a brick out house (**** house, for the uninitiated), can certainly move fast and seems very capable of holding a ball up.
I don't see many sprinters in the Spurs defence.

Agree - would like to see Nouble thrown on - in the brief cameo against Portsmouth he had three touches, I think, one miscontrol, one ran away from him, but he did appear to have PACE - something we are almost totally lacking in. (oh, and height up front)

I am not a fan of Diamanti on the wing, his best assets are his through balls and shooting, he doesnt track back well and tires easily, so he should be utilized behind the front man and not have too many defensive duties, therefore my team:
..............................Green.............................
Faubert.........Tomkins.....Upson............Ilunga
...........Collison.....Behrami.....Parker..............
.................Diamanti.........Jimenez.................
.............................Franco..............................
Christmas tree formation with Jimenez and Diamanti wandering wherever they wish, the energy of our middle three is fantastic and would easily cover the 2 creative players who dont work hard. I, personally, would play Da Costa ahead of Tomkins if Crouch is playing but I think after Tomkins recent good form he deserves his place. Kovac too deserves his place but this is just my preferred team.

Spurs have had bragging rights for far too long, 1-9 to us just to rub it in
Re: T*ttenham Vs West Ham United: Match thread
Despite Jimi's contribution yesterday, i'd b inclined to replace noble (injured) with behrami to give ilunga cover and if franco is injured, nouble will get the nod for me as there isn't really anyone else who can lead the line.
With that in mind i'd go
green
faubert upson tomkins ilunga
collison kovac parker Behrami
Diamanti
Nouble

collison kovac parker Behrami
Diamanti
Nouble

Didn't see too much of Nouble but we could definitely do with some aerial presence up front so I'd be up for getting him on. He could get back to mark Crouch from corners.
Whoever marks Crouch has got to remember to stand beside him -you've got no chance jumping from behind him.
Although their keeper done ok at Fulham I'd test him out at any opportunity because this guy is definitely a bit wobbly. Hit him hard from the first corner and he could buckle.

Re: T*ttenham Vs West Ham United: Match thread
I hate this fixture. My cousin, 6 years younger than me, was taken to a number of these games by me in the late 80's and it appears that I've jinxed us by doing so. He's now STH there and always (well nearly always) gets the sarky texts territory well-mapped out for the whole 24 hours that encompass this fixture.
It makes it 10x worse that Redknapp is doing so well there too.
So all I ask of us is that we put on the kind of performance shown against those other tarts from SW6 this month. At least that way we go down fighting.
I'd take a point now (as would the rest of us no doubt).

Re: T*ttenham Vs West Ham United: Match thread
a point AT LEAST today please lads - via a grubbed last minute goal would be even better!
got a feeling that the side we have looks more balanced than ive seen it this season, and if parker and pepperami are up for it, should have a mighty battle in the middle of the park
im sick of leaving there without a goal or point...sort it ahhhhhhhhhht!
IRONNNS!

Re: T*ttenham Vs West Ham United: Match thread
Well, I have a feeling this is gonna be one of those rare, all time classic encounters. ~ A high scoring game and a very close match, something along the lines of that great match which I was lucky enough to have seen back in November 1967 when we won 4-3. Never forgotten it. An all time great

COYI!
I feel like we can get a result today. I've got tickets in row 7, can't ****ing wait. The only other time I've been to ***** Hart Lane was in 2002 when Pearcey got the last-minute winner - I'm hoping for something similar today...
