Re: West Ham for sale (again)
The timing of this news, the amount of the bid (100m), and the fact that the Intermarket bidders are still anonymous, again just makes me think that this is all being orchestrated by Straumur in a desperate attempt to get G and S / Fernandez to increase their bids.

Re: West Ham for sale (again)
Munich - Intermarket are real. An ex-player is involved in the consortium. They haven't been that active since the original statements because the noise they made went against them it seems.

Pezza - so why aren't they revealing themselves then? Surely now is the time for them to put their cards on the table.

Re: West Ham for sale (again)
Or because they are so stinking rich that Straumur will try and exploit them..........
Re: West Ham for sale (again)
Could easily include Brown / Joorabchian in tandem or Magnusson as part of a consortium....screech wrote: probably because they would include one of the following: terry brown, kia joorabchian or eggy

Re: West Ham for sale (again)
Pezza says that an ex player is involved, so I can only presume that this is Cottee.

Re: West Ham for sale (again)
Are any of our ex-players wealthy enough in this context to be considered anything other than just a figurehead for the consortium ?

Re: West Ham for sale (again)
At the game on Boxing day was told a few things......Tony Fernardes is a strong bidder (possible winner in my source's opinon) and has the backing but isn't happy with some the accounts......G & S willing to up their bid but only if certain clause's placed......nothing about Intermarket but seems ALL suiters I mentioned are using the press and ex players to carry favour with the fans. No idea when deals are to be completed...all parties would like to complete by next week but the Icelandics are holding out !

Freddie Ljunberg received a nice payoff from us, maybe he's got a few quid to invest.Devils Advocate wrote:Are any of our ex-players wealthy enough in this context to be considered anything other than just a figurehead for the consortium ?

Report: American Consortium To Launch £100m Takeover Of West Ham United On Monday
A London-based American consortium is reportedly set to launch a £100 million bid to takeover West Ham United, according to a report in Sky Sports.
London-based financial analysis firm Intermarket have allegedly revealed that they intend to takeover the club next Monday, and give manager Gianfranco Zola the funds he requires to bolster the squad in January.
The chief executive of the company, Jim Bowe, and several other investors - who happen to be fans of the Upton Park outfit - are believed to be desperate to help the Hammers with the necessary funding required to ensure their Premier League participation next season.
It is claimed that the group are keen to conclude a buy-out as soon as possible, so as to give the Italian enough time to make purchases during the transfer window.
The Hammers are one point away from being dragged back into the drop zone, as they have collected only 18 points after the halfway point in the season.

Re: West Ham for sale (again)
Fernandes hasnt got a big enough pot to dribble let alone piss in and just likes the headlines. Forget him unless he's putting 2-bob into the Intermarket thingy or you want the Club mortgaged to the hilt again.
Fact is so far Intermarket are all talk NO action and the club have seen nothing concrete at all regards capital, funding or ownership structure. Does anyone really fancy being owned by a faceless consortium?
G&S still big favourites IF the leeching, ****ing Icelanders sell.
4th is a key date - I refer to my man's comments from months ago.

The only former player who has sufficient funds would be the current manager of Tottenham Hotspur I would have thought.
