Re: Arsenal v West Ham United Match Thread
we are poor defensively and we have no pace in attack, the two things putting us in the position we are currently in, easily solvable but not identified by our manager.
Arsenal look wide open and are now ripe to be picked off with campbell alone at the back, I can see him getting sent off as well.

thinking about it I now fully expect all decisions to go Arsenals way for the first 20 minutes of the second half

Yes he is a good penalty taker but if you put it in the same side everytime then sooner or later you are going to get found out, like with his penalty todayHammerMan2004 wrote:I love it. Diamanti and predictable in the same sentence
It was a cracking save.
There's being predictable and then there's scoring your last 4 penalties so do what you're confident doing. It worked for him the last 4 penalties. That scored us important goals.

I bet £5 either Kovac or Diamanti get a second yellow, or we get a straight red about 9 minutes into the 2nd half to level things up

Re: Arsenal v West Ham United Match Thread
typical blinkered refereeing bar the pen - Campbell should be off already - if the challenge on Junior was carried out by a Hammer on Arsenal we would not have heard the end of it!

yeah because he slipped and kicked it on to his right footJonG86 wrote:We scored a pen against Arsenal in the cup? wasn't that Diamanti's only goal from open play? (serious question I get the two games confused)
Diamantis first penalty didn't go straight down the middle against Liverpool?

Bang on - thought the first 20 was all going Arsenal's way in the first half, can't only get worse now ****hole ****er's put his oar in...sanchoz wrote:thinking about it I now fully expect all decisions to go Arsenals way for the first 20 minutes of the second half

Re: Arsenal v West Ham United Match Thread
Surprised nobody has mentioned that Almunia was a yard or two of his line. Ron Atkinson and the other pundits on my stream are ignoring it while going on about how it wasn't a penalty. Taking a last man out, whether you're looking at the ball or not, is a penalty ffs.
Oh and Wenger's a ****, the man has no class. Berating the officials while coming off at half time should be looked at by the FA, I can't stand it.

Seems like Canal+ commentators are always w*nking over "big 4".. Finnish are no exception, I normally turn the sound off in the beginning of the 2nd half. Today theres no finnish comms and the english are easier to just ignore.BMU.WIC wrote: I'd like to know myself, with the Swedish commentator on Canal+ no better - "can't see any contact with Franco" - sly little push by Vermaelen to throw him off balance by some slight chance?

If only we were tied at 1-1 now... However, knowing us, that would result in a 4-1 loss...

shame it wasn't the ref we had at home versus Chelsea pen should have and would have been taken again i bet!
Did anyone think the ball went over the side line for the Arsenal goal?

Considering Arsenal are title challengers, we have been playing pretty well. True our midfield are not closing down the ball in our half quick enough, but we are creating a few chances.
With a little more pace up front, with Cole or McCarthy coming on, we might just get something out of this Arsenal defence, especially with Vermeillen off the pitch. Just a shame we let in that early goal!
It's good to see Shaka is fully on our side in the ESPN studio

We need to get at Campbell, can see him going too. The lads 'ave done ok. Penalty miss handed back the momentum to them. We'll get more chances this half, just need to be more clinical. COYI !

We look pretty good when we get someone in wide areas going forward, and make a mess of it inside. Surely against 10 we'll be stretching the width of the pitch as much as possible.

Yeah? He'd scored 4 from 4. Besides the penalty he scuffed, wasn't he going for the left side?stu1 wrote:Yes he is a good penalty taker but if you put it in the same side everytime then sooner or later you are going to get found out, like with his penalty today
I stand by my point. If he's confident going one side, and it was working for him, let him get on with it. He's not perfect. He's play for West Ham, he never will be.
