Was at home with the kids watching soccer saturday, when the third goal went in i went and made my piss and gave the crossed hammers sign in the mirror to myself as im so angry with myself right now!! My poor 6 year old son just looked at me today as the goals went in as if to say " you utter c*** of a father putting me through this for the rest of my life"!

Just got back from the game today, thought we looked out of depth and from GK to CF looked awful? anyone else agree.

Reid looked lost at RB

4-5-1 didnt suit us


On the better note, we played better when 4-4-2 came into place in second half
Gonna be a very very long season if we carry on playing like that

The main problem is, ever since Curbs left and we haven't had a West Ham man in charge, we just seem to lack the bollocks and fight that West Ham sides of the past have had.

We nearly always used to give it a go. Nowadays we just roll over and die.

I think we'll be ok this season. But it just doesn't seem the same West Ham United that I used to know and love.

I'm hoping G & S will sort this out in the long run.

Just got back. Awful performance. No cohesion between players, scotty and nobes the only two that played some decent balls. Gave them far too much room. They knew we had Reid at right back who was nervous so they put players on him all the time, where we didnt put any pressure on their two youngsters in the team, someone needed to put that Albrighton into touch early on, see if he fancied it.

Fans were top as always, bit of football in the Witton Arms garden beforehand and that little chav in the blue tracksuit in the villa end :lol:

You are going to have to accept it because it's true. We are fighting with Wolves, Wigan, West Brom, Blackpool, Blackburn, Stoke etc. That is our level right now and until we buy a few £7m-£10m players, we will stay that way. We could have Ferguson and Mourinho in charge, but without better players you don't win games against the teams that have those players.

Yeah Tel i agree yeah, i remember coming back down the M6 after we lost 7-1 at Blackburn with Arry the Spur in charge, we were rock hard that day, rock Mate & on them Everton trips under him too..

Arrry teh Spur was/is West Ham too aye, yeah... :lol:

Christ we had some shocking performances under curbs!

What a contrast to all the optimism after our win at Wolves first game last season. Who would have thought then that a year later we still wouldn't have won another away game.

First half we were awful today. Not even a proper shot I think. Second half started far better - mainly I think to having 2 up front. But once Villa got 3rd game was over.

Overall very poor and I suspect we will struggle again this year especially if Cole is played up front on his own.

Not impressed that Cole disappeared down tunnel at end of game without even handshakes let alone thaks to us. (unless of course he had good reason to)

Highlight for us was lunch at Big Wok all you can eat chinese in Birmingham - better than even the pies I suspect.

And was it really necessary for British Transport Police to have 8 officers accompanying us on the 17.50 from New Street and 14 more waiting for us at Euston? Do they still think its the 1980s?

We used to quite often turn the likes of big-spending Arsenal, Chelsea and Man United years ago.

Compare the two starting XI's when we won at the Emirates in the 06/07 season. They're miles apart. The same goes for many of our results in the old days. Nowadays, as I say, we just roll over and die.

People need to stop slagging Upson off, without him today it would have been horrendous. People moan about his leadership and communication but the end of the day if the players around him cant do their jobs there is nothing he can do.

Just back from VP,a good day out- apart from the football.

Upson looked casual, Green uncertain, Cole was isolated and Parker looked as though he was saving himself for a move.I'm not pushing the panic button, but this was not much different from Zola fare.

todays performance was extremly dissapointing and abysmal,like others feel really cheesed off. FWIW this is my take on the current team/squad and position we are in.:

starting with green,he is a talented keeper but after his world cup blooper the spotlight is very much on him to makes hes next blooper.he made 1 excellent save today but looked very edgy and nervous and could have caught the ball for their 1st goal instead of punching it.hopefully he will settle down.i would like to see him converse more with our back four and be more vocal.

right back: sad to say but we have not replaced neill in over a year.we have had faubert,spector,tomkins in pre-season,and reid today who had a very hard time(tho unfair to judge on 1 game).i presume either he or ben haim will end up playing there this season.we should have aquired a specialist RB in a year and def in the summer.

left back: iilunga does not look the player he was 2 years ago,whilst daprela is talented and IMO should be given his chance,

centre back: upson da costa the best 2 we have got,but upson is not playing at the top of his game and with his contract situation is not ideal.he is no leader and nowhere near vocal enough for my liking and not skipper material.i think this lack of leadership and poor communication in the defence is a big problem to us and accountable for poor defensive displays.

in midfield we have parker our outstanding player and should be captain.noble is ok and hitz when fit again will be a good signing,as i think barrera will be when he settles in..LBM should never have been given a new contract,faubert does not produce enough.kovac should have been sold in the week instead of being called back and behrami must be sold if hes refusing to play asap.its a real shame we never got sulejmani as he would have offered us pace and width on the left hand side.we need a player with pace and creativity in midfield its all to slow and predictable in our build up play.

up front: cole is a decent striker but needs more support either from a strike partner or from the midfield.we got picuionne and caicedo but i feel we need a striker with good pace to give us variety and more of a goal threat.it also stops teams defending high up the pitch and compressing/squeezing the play as we saw today.

lets hope AG can identify these weaknesses and put them right asap,otherwise it will be a very long and hard season. heres hoping
