Re: West Ham vs Bolton match thread
Dacosta is the one centre half that we have who is capable of handling Davies.
And if Martin Petrov plays we need a proper right back.

We saw yesterday that Reid is clearly not yet a top flight right back, however he certainly didn't look out of his depth with the physical battle at times with Carew.
I think Reid could give Davies a bit of his medicine but I suspect Tomkins will drop out of the firing line and be replaced by Da Costa or Ben Haim (who as an ex team-mate at Bolton would know Davies' game inside out).

Think MDC got to play. Think we should drop that c*nt Upson aswell, the bloke is useless. I wouldnt put LBM anywhere near my squad let alone starting 11. Piq and Barrera didnt do to bad when they came on. Everyone no its going to happen though, Petrov and Davies will rip us to sh*t both score and most probably so will Taylor.

Re: West Ham vs Bolton match thread
The Villa game provided many more questions than answers, and with nearly every player having a 'mare it's hard to say what Grant will do to turn it around. Didn't see much sign of understanding between Piq & Cole when we played 4-4-2 which is not surprising given how little they played together.
Tomkins needs to be dropped (and loaned out after the Oxford game) and I'd also drop Reid. Da Costa would be my preference at centre back, but Grant doesn't seem to fancy him.
We could copy Villa's 4-4-1-1 formation and line up as follows: Green; Spector-Gabbidon-Upson-Ilunga; Faubert-Parker-Noble-Boa Morte; Barrera; Cole.

He was our best defender yesterday by a country mile!Cambridge_hammer wrote:Think we should drop that c*nt Upson aswell, the bloke is useless.
The rest of the back four looked like amatuers alongside him.

Behrami is sulking so F**K him off and put Diamanti on the right wing.Het-Field wrote:-------------------Green-----------------

I know many will claim i am mad for wanting to see Ben Haim, however, he is a man with plenty of experience, and can be a bit of a hardcase when he wants to be. Im all for him starting
Looks good to me.

Re: West Ham vs Bolton match thread
Well we're quite obviously doomed! :arry:
I'm going to plump for 3-1 to us with Davies getting is obligatory goal against us.
I'd play Da Costa instead of Tomkins personally. Start with Piq up with Cole, and Barrera out wide
First game at home and I'd expect a big performance from the team. I'm hoping that yesterdays 3-0 is a HUGE wake up call.

Re: West Ham vs Bolton match thread
I swear we never play well against Bolton and when we do, we still come away with f*** all. We need to step up our game completely from yesterday and come back with something special to shake off the first defeat of the season.
Re: West Ham vs Bolton match thread
For everyone saying Da Costa should start ahead of tomkins - agreed but isnt he still injured after that ankle knock he picked up which kept him out of yesterdays game?

Re: West Ham vs Bolton match thread
Green and Tomkins to have a mare while Kevin Davies puts in his usual MOTM performance with a goal and an assist.

Re: West Ham vs Bolton match thread
Well, the annual arse twitching session is on earlier than usual and that's just the team. Upton Park is not going to be a nice place to be next week. I see Bolton beating The Spam by the usual three goals. Davis K to score and Lee to grab a couple while the mong goalie will probably let a couple slip through his fingers. Course the transfer window isn't closed yet so might get another ten players in and go on a run that could end up in Europe. On the other hand we could look forward to going to Southampton next season.

Past records dictate that we will lose this game if you going to the bookie put money on Bolton to win.
