That's good even for Messi! Think you'll find it's 71 goals in 122 Apps
Would like to see Rhodes join, he'll take a while to adjust to the Premier League I'd think. The advantage players like Holt have had scoring while going up the leagues is that they never made the jump straight away, they had a season in the Championship. DJ Campbell is the last player I can think as a striker that joined straight from League 1, didn't do well in the Prem first time round with Birmingham. However, once he'd had a couple of spells in the Championship did much better with Blackpool.

If it is 6 mill that will surely be structured in terms of appearances, goals etc. A straight up price tag that high would be putting alot of pressure on the lad. I've only really seen him play fully once, in that match where there was about a dozen scouts watching him and he scored 5 goals with pretty much his only 5 meaningful touches of the ball. He could be just what we need - right place, right time striker.

Exactly what I'm thinking. I think Rhodes would much rather be playing week in week out scoring goals rather than sitting on the bench and playing 15-20 minutes here and there. He will be another Baldock purely because he doesn't fit into our system. We already have Maynard who seems content enough to warm the bench. If we sign another striker I can see it being in the Cole mould.

I'm not sure if he would fit into Sams formation or not - thats why I said he could be what we need, not definitely. Like I say, I've only seen him once properly.
conflicting views then, that Clunge on twitter said last night that Rhodes was only going to be an option if we didn't get promotion, and that now we are in the Prem they do not want to take the risk and would rather get in a proven striker in the prem.... time will tell i suppose.
( i would link the twitter post but its blocked at work )
If we had stayed in the Championship I couldn't for the life of me see Rhodes even considering joining. He will go to a Premier League side, be that us, Fulham or whoever...

Bubbles, don't disagree and hope we do sign McCartney. What if he's injured or suspended though? We need a back up. If we need to bring in a back up for any role shouldn't we try to bring in a player equally as good as the player in situ given the step up?
I suspect Sam will try to play compact again next year so the full backs almost become the key players
Completely agree.
Reading the tea leaves - I'd guess Richardson and McCartney with Taylor as 3rd choice.

Cheers mate. Guess it's hard to compare if they were playing in different leagues. Baldock had 4 in 4 apps for MK Dons before his move up to the Championship.
