COCSF2: West Ham Utd 0-3 Manchester City (21/01/14)

Post by the pink palermo »

After a narrow defeat at the Etihad we welcome City's superstars to the Boleyn Ground for the return leg .

For those that fancy it, tickets are still available .

-----------------------------------------Adrian-----------------------

-------------------Tomkins--------Collins--------Johnson-------

Downing-------Morrison -------Noble--------Taylor----Jarvis

--------------------------------Cole----------Carroll------------------

I'm predicting a 3-1 victory over a largely second string City line up in front of a crowd less than 16,000.

Would love to be a fly on the wall to see how Sam motivates the players for this, and how they react. Anyway, I'd like to see him swap Downing and Jarvis over and unleash Ravel to see what happens.

Would be a sickener if we won 6-0, only to lose it in extra time to an away goal in a 7-1 victory. That would seriously hurt.

Given the injury crisis being at fault for our league position, won't we be playing our reserves/kids again?

Although I'd expect Carroll to get a half again.

Wish I hadn't already paid for my seat now :D

I know I'm not going, and I'll feel bad for the supporters that do go, but surely Big Sam plays some youngsters? Why would he risk more injuries to anyone that features in the first team? Having said that, we don't know what our first team is.

Went to the 2nd leg of the Littlewoods Cup (as was) against Oldham in 1990 after they had creamed us on their plastic 6-0 in the first leg.
Already had the ticket and didn't know the result until I watched highlights that night.
Got enormously drunk in the Queens and throughly enjoyed the game along with the other hardy souls that turned up.....
Half tempted to go now after writing that

I would expect a near full strength team.

It's a good opportunity to get Tomkins and Collins back in tandem, and a chance to give Nolan a bit of match practice. Likewise, Vaz and Carroll from the bench in the second half.

Hopefully Chambers will get a game.....and I too would like to see Downing and Jarvis get a go on their natural sides.

We won that game 3-0 & with a bit more luck would have levelled the score, not saying it will happen on tues but you have to hope the team is set up to get a result.

Pointless. Don't turn up, take the default 3-0 loss.

I know it sounds really sad and horrible....until it starts hurting them in the pocket they wont change anything....but i really do hope there is less than 15k there.

Went home & away legs, the difference was, we genuinely went for it in the 2nd leg & Oldham absolutely **** themselves. We were unlucky to only get 3

Agreed I would prefer no one in the ground at all it's the only way their types would take notice. But less than a half full stadium will be embarrassing enough on live tv.

Romford we have some fans who are never missers - you know who they are for sure - they travel everywhere , and make huge sacrifices to support the club .It would be nice if the club refunded those fans the price of the ticket
