Palace struggling to sell allocation for this? Surprises me a little. £43 isn't cheap by any stretch, but it's only 45 mins on the tube, and i'd have thought it'd be a pretty appealing away game.

I think the Stripey Nigel singsong brigade usually go to a youth game on a Saturday morning, I'm pretty certain they didn't show at our place last season.

Far from a walkover then.bubbles1966 wrote:Crystal Palace come to the Boleyn on the back of four successive away wins, and a record of one away loss in their last nine away games this season.
We have close to our strongest XI available and we should feel we can really set the tone on Saturday. I imagine we'll see the usual routine of a tight first half with us starting strong in the second and hopefully getting our noses in front soon after the break.
Hope we're not too reliant on the bench for inspiration because there isn't a lot there.

Any news on if the game has reached Ticket Trader yet? I want to sell my Season Ticket.

Re: West Ham United v Crystal Palace: Match Thread
Crystal Palace have developed into a good little side since we beat them rather convincingly earlier in the Season at their place and although we looked to be on a slide , we weren't really , we just drew too many games , that's all . Out of our last 10 games , we only lost 2 games , just two games and all this furore started up against our Manager - we lost to West Brom in the FA Cup and to Liverpool in the Prem , the rest were 5 draws [ Everton FA Cup , Southampton , Man Utd , Swansea , and Tottenham ] with victories against Hull , Everton FAC and Bristol City FAC .
So , if Sam and the team were guilty of anything , it was drawing too many matches which I realise can be frustrating but it happens .
Who have we got to beware of ? Puncheon , Bolasie and maybe Zaha , I'll also count Chamakh because if I leave him out you know what will happen !
In Sakho we have a striker who scores goals and another in Valencia who is trying his best to .
We are waiting for the game for when Valencia decides to put his shooting boots on and use the head that so impressed us at Burnley and Stoke - you've got the ability , Son , just go out and use it !
I'm expecting a close game , Palace will fight for everything , but it will be another 3-1 victory to the mighty West Ham .
West Ham United 3 Crystal Palace 1
[ Valencia 2 , Sakho ] [ Bolasie ]

Big game for Downing needed here as I think he's looked a bit leggy in the past month (please don't think I'm digging him out though!)
His goal earlier at theirs was our best goal this season. One touch passing that started just outside our own penalty area ending with an outstanding finish.

Re: West Ham United v Crystal Palace: Match Thread
There were four players who had made runs ahead of Downing when he scored that second goal. That's what we'll need on Saturday.
Charge!

I don't know about this season, but I think you'll find that they sold out their allocation last time around.Ricardo wrote:I think the Stripey Nigel singsong brigade usually go to a youth game on a Saturday morning, I'm pretty certain they didn't show at our place last season.
As for the game, I don't think Pardew will play for a point, more that he will attack us, in the expectation that Campbell and/or Gayle can find some space in our penalty area. They have pace to burn in the wide areas of the pitch and a generally settled defence.
I fancy us to win, but not to keep a clean sheet.
Looking forward to it.

Look at what our players can do, they know they can do it, we know they can do it!!
But will they do it?
Bloody footballers and managers - they'd break your heart.

Some detailed stats on the two teams that I've pasted together if you like that sort of thing: http://oi57.tinypic.com/aky7tk.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; [Note: I've filtered it for PL games in 2015]
We have had a tougher set of fixtures over this period but it does show that Palace have been a much better side lately and this fixture won't be a walkover.
The stat that sticks out to me is how many goal attempts we've conceded compared to Palace.

Is Swindlehurst playing for them or us ...?
It could be crucial.
