Just this once I will take a mind numbingly boring game as long as we score a goal - and they don't.
Just this once mind....

If Reid can't start and there is any doubt about lasting 90 minutes, then this, repeat this. Put BurkeWhufc06 wrote:Is Burke fit? I'd give him a start in this next to Collins.
alongside Collins. Caveat being Noble as the designated DM with Kouyate and Song in front of him. Should be more than enough effective cover for our back four including Burke in a start.
We should have done this against Brom. Kouyate is more important for us and offers more for us overall in midfield than as a CB. We are basically safe in the league, playing against a lower half of the money league team. Perfect opportunity to blood a youngster from our famed Academy in the money league alongside a seasoned pro and lets see what he can do. James Tomkins got a start as did every other player in the team.
As for the forward three, Nolan, Sakho, Downing, Amalfitano, Jarvis, Cole, Lee, etc take your pick.

We'll play well without creating many chances then lose 0-1, probably scored by Defoe, in the last 5 minutes and likely it'll be offside as well.
I'm not feeling it people.

Matchday , and nearly 10am and this is the first post of the day on the match thread .
A sure sign our season has collapsed into nothing after a promising start .
Mid table , nowt to play for but pride, this is what you get when you don't strengthen your squad at all in the January window .

Just clicked on here to share similar sentiments to Pinky, I've even sold my ticket today which is very rare.
I really have lost interest, the Palace result was very deflating.
However, without clouded judgement, 2-0 Sunderland. Defoe and the rapist.

Poyet in for Noble, Demel in for Jenkinson and I agree with that line up Saludo. Not a chance of it happening though
Re: West Ham United FC vs Sunderland AFC: Match thread
So what can/can't be sung today about Adam Johnson? What is this warning?

Just a straight "if you tolerate this, then your children will be next" should suffice if it's loud enough.

Defining game for our season today,we were Champions league up to Christmas day and Championship form since.
Lose or only draw I think Sam will be gone in the summer, win and kick on then he will stay, very big game indeed for him.

Re: West Ham United FC vs Sunderland AFC: Match thread
So underwhelmed currently. It's not that we're in mid table mediocracy, more that out form has been so poor.
To be fair though there are only really 1 or 2 teams you'd want to play to get back on track currently, though will put players raise their game against a lesser* team - something they've failed with WBA, Palace, and Hull (first half) since Christmas. The only game which could be considered a write off - and even then it's not - is Man City away, but the season has to restart today. If it doesn't it's going to be a slow journey until August next season!

Re: West Ham United FC vs Sunderland AFC: Match thread
We'll win this comfortably to set us up for a strong finish to the season, ending up 7th or 8th and we can then all look back on one of the most exciting seasons in some time.
